Your Itinerary

Inner Groove Brewery

This is a sample itinerary, all schedules are subject to change. During the musical heyday of the ’60s and ’70s, bands used to place hidden messages and secret songs on the ‘inner groove’ of vinyl records. At Inner Groove Brewing, you won’t find any hidden messages but you will find a wealth of great beer. Inner Groove opened its doors in June of 2019 as the brainchild of two husband and wife couples. Tim & Kelly Melle and Kevin & Jennifer Walzer founded the brewery as a representation of their passion for great beer and good music. Nestled in the town of Verona, Inner Groove is poised to become a vital part of the up-and-coming quaint neighborhood just north of the Steel City.

City Brew Tours Pittsburgh

We will pick you up at 112 Washington Place to start your unforgettable craft beer journey. We couldn’t count how many bridges & tunnels we traveled in search of the best craft breweries and beer Pittsburgh has to offer. If it weren’t for Pittsburgh being split by 3 rivers, there’s a good chance there may not be enough water to support this many breweries in one city! From the smallest, newest nano-breweries to independent craft breweries with age-old history, we sought out the brewers who helped bring craft beer to the ‘burgh and focused on developing strong relationships with each of them so we could give you unfettered access to their spaces and suds. Our tour itineraries vary amongst several great breweries including Strange Roots, Allegheny City Brewing, Couch Brewing and other described below.

Hop Farm Brewing Company

Hop Farm Brewing Company is a woman-owned, family-run brewery in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. At Hop Farm, they are dedicated to the responsible use of our natural resources, from production to packaging and everywhere in between. They are proud Pittsburgher’s who look to source local wherever possible, whether in the brewhouse or the kitchen.

Trace Brewing

At Trace Brewing in Pittsburgh, PA, they brew a little bit of everything for everyone. This Bloomfield neighborhood hot spot was built inside an old brass and bronze foundry from 1900 and celebrates the old with its vaulted ceilings, old growth wood and brick structure as well as the new with its graffiti, neon lights, and massive steel tanks. Trace values inclusion and community, crafting many different styles of beer for many different tastes and inviting dogs (patio only) and families to stop on by.

My wife and I had a great experience checking out the local brewerys! Clayton was our Beer Guide, and we had a great time. He explained everything well, really relatable, and knew his beers! Would definitely book again, the beer was amazing!

This was a really fun experience for me and this awesome lady I used to be married to. We both highly recommend City Brew Tours. Our tour guide, Kevin, was super friendly and extremely knowledgable about beer, brewing, and Pittsburgh- and the history of all three things. BTW- he’s a Bryan Cranston look-alike, so what’s cooler than getting a beer tour around town from Walter White from Breaking Bad? “Saison my name!” (Get it?) Lol. . . Great memories made with a van-load of beer nerds like us. It’s a little pricey but well worth it- I would recommend adding in the meal option. It’s a long afternoon with a fair amount of beer. . . The pick-up and drop-off area is right by the John Heinz History Center and within walking distance of lots of great restaurants, hotels, and scenery.

I purchased this tour for my husband’s birthday. What do you get a guy who has everything! A tour to experience beer! Kevin was a wealth of knowledge, the three breweries were each unique and offered a wide variety of beers. We really enjoyed this experience.

We had a wonderful time. Our guide, Brian G. was so knowledgeable and worked with us on our schedule so that we were able to make our dinner reservations after the tour. We had a party of 5 people and only 2 had drinking tickets. Just a good example of how you can have a lot of fun without drinking. Also, loved the french fries. He was very conscientious about one of our party who was vegetarian. Thank you so much Brian!!! Would highly recommend the tour!!

This tour was so great. We had Teddy as our tour guide and he did a fantastic job explaining the processes and breweries. This was booked for us as part of our Pack Up & Go trip. I am gluten free and Teddy spoke to each brewery for me to make sure they would accommodate me while everyone else drank beer. Would certainly do again!

We had a wonderful evening with Brian as our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the beer making process, and answered all questions. The beers we tried were great! Just a tip - make sure to double check if your tour has a meal or snack (it was a bit confusing to us) and double check the pick up location in the email they send you (there are a few listed on the website).
