Duomo Rooftops
Visitors can stroll through an impressive ‘stone forest’ filled with over 3,400 statues, 150 gargoyles, and a silent assembly of saints and martyrs carved in Candoglia marble. The experience is not only an architectural journey but also a spiritual one, as the figures seem to watch over the monument and the city below1. The terraces provide a privileged view over Milan, allowing for a suggestive walk amidst wonderful decorations and a breathtaking backdrop, making it one of the most evocative places in the city. The terraces of Milan Cathedral, also known as the Duomo di Milano, offer a unique panorama and are a testament to Gothic architectural brilliance. The rooftop is accessible by lift, leading visitors to the first level about 31 meters above ground. From there, two steep stairways take you to the second level at 45 meters high, where the Central Terrace provides the highest accessible point for visitors.
