I highly recommend visiting Strawberry Field! Great exhibit where you learn about the Salvation Army and John Lennon and the Beatles. We had a wonderful lunch in the cafe, did the self led audio tour and walked through gardens. Truly an amazing place. Keep up the great work. Also an amazing gift shop with one of a kind Beatles shirts and sweatshirts where proceeds go to the Salvation Army!

Poor experience,the audio was shocking ,earphones didn’t fit correctly,there’s nothing really to look at apart from printed boards and photographs.,and there was more things related to elvis rather than the Beatles..the garden has been ruined by taking the trees down..,and the staff were more interested in us having a cup of tea.don’t waste your money….

I went with my family having lived through the years when the Liverpool sound was formed so the tour was very nostalgic for me. It was so interesting and I enjoyed it very much. Garden too was tranquil and peaceful. I would highly recommend a visit.

Wow what can I say. I visited Strawberry’s Field for the first time on my 43rd birthday. I’m local and been a Beatles fan all my life, have visited the gates on several occasions all before the new visitor centre opened, which was cool enough but going inside, now that’s something else.
It has everything you want and would expect from there, the exhibition was amazing, informative and tells the story of the birth of the Salvation Army, the site of Strawberry Field, John Lennon’s childhood and connections and of course the song itself and if that’s not enough the piano John recorded Imagine on.
The gardens and displays outside are what you’d expect and won’t be disappointed.
Also for me one of the coolest things was the see through picture of the original mansion, if you can’t imagine what the old place would look like within the grounds just line it up with the steps and there you have it.
Possibly the best thing is seeing the people the Salvation Army are helping, seeing them working in the cafe, gift shop and around the site really is amazing.
The only thing that’s disappointed me was it’s taken me so long to get to visit here.
A great morning, and definitely worth a visit whether you’re local or a tourist.

As a massive Beatles fan, this was on my list. The guided media tour was really interesting with information from the Salvatian Army who own the site and ran the children’s home that was there when John played there. Lots of information about John and the song. My 12 year old was really engaged with it all. There are grounds to enjoy also. I particularly enjoyed seeing John’s piano which was donated by another of my icons, George Micheal. They also have a ship which was cheaper than the other Beatles shops!
