Your Itinerary

St. George's Hall

We visit one of the grandest buildings in the UK. Home to many film sets and the scene for some of Liverpool's most memorable events. It's also home to a hidden bakery that we'll take you to.

Ma Egerton's Stage Door

We visit one of the most famous pubs in the North. Ma Egerton has welcomed famous faces like Sinatra, The Beatles, and more recently Amy Winehouse. We'll share the stories of this character-filled back street boozer.

Bold Street

One of our favorite streets in the city. Some amazing independent places to eat and drink. Originally a rope walks for sailors we'll explore the area and have some great bites.

Chinatown

The oldest Chinatown in the UK has one of the most impressive Chinese arches anywhere in the world. We'll hear about the history of Liverpool's Chinese community and get some delicious bites whilst we're here.

St Luke’s Bombed Out Church

This old church now stands as a memorial to WW2 as well as a cultural space that hosts events and concerts. A really unique part of Liverpool.

Liverpool Philharmonic Hall

This area has some stunning architecture and has also seen some of the most famous music concerts the UK has held. We might even pop into one of our favorite pubs dating back to the 19th century.

Knowledge Quarter

Home to one of the best universities in the UK Liverpool's knowledge quarter has some very interesting back streets. From haunted houses to hidden restaurants and one of the most unique graves you'll ever see.

We had a great time on the tour. We live in Liverpool and found some great new places to eat, and lots of history too. The tour took around 3 hours total, with 5 stops and plenty of stories about the city’s culture and history along the way. We tried some new foods we wouldn’t otherwise have tasted (no spoilers included in the review!) and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city, it was a great way to see some of the sights and get a flavour for the city

Really enjoyable few hours with tour host, James. Plenty of great food in local businesses that we will definitely revisit, while learning about Liverpool history along the way. We wouldn’t have found these places ourselves despite being reasonably regular visitors to Liverpool. I would recommend this tour to anyone, locals, almost locals like ourselves and tourists alike. Thank you, James for a great tour.

Amazing way to experience & explore Liverpool. Saw places/streets I wouldn't have seen otherwise and ate wonderful food along the way. James is an excellent guide.

I lived in this area from 2015-2021, and had never visited any of the places (but one) where we stopped. The mix of walking, sampling food, and learning the history of the city was an absolute treat, even for someone who *thought* they knew the city. Our guide, James, was an absolute delight. Highly Recommend!

The food tour was disappointing. We met at the Bluecoates at 11.30am but were taken straight to the canteen for a bowl of soup and did not get the opportunity to go round the building but instead were then taken immediately to a Spanish delicatessen and given a savoury pastry. A short walk (10 minutes) took us to an Italian cafe for a sandwich tasting which to be fair was very good. But very little information was given on any topic and we were all feeling rather full and disinclined to walk far which was lucky as guess where we went next? A rather grubby Korean cafe where we sat on a bench with no food or drink for 30minutes as the cook was busy before then having a bao bun. The trip continued but and we did get wine at the last venue but it was not what we had expected for £70 each. More information and stories about the areas we visited and a balanced approach to the food sampling would improve the tour.

I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon in February than this food tour of local little gems that we didn't even know excited in our own city! Charlotte was amazing, so knowledgeable and passionate about not only food but the history of Liverpool too. We will definitely be back to visit all of the places on this tour - I won't spoil it for those who have yet to go but you will love the diversity of the food and atmosphere in the venues. Thanks you Charlotte we had a fabulous time!

Was a great tour, James guided us through the city showing us sights with back stories. The food breaks well placed along the walks, with a good variety of foods and drinks (coffee and walnut flavoured tea was my choice, you are not forced into trying but keep an open mind). Some hiddem gems that you may not find by yourself. Fully recommend the scouse (add the pickled cabbage, yummy) . Even used a grade 1 listed toilet! Fully recommend the tour. History lessons included :)

Great experience, food was amazing. The tour was good but the tour guide could have been a little more enthusiastic. She seemed like she couldn’t wait to leave the tour. More drinks could have been provided as this would have made the tour ore relaxed.
