It is fun just wandering around the lanes and alleys of York but for a fun, curated tour this is great. Lots of local knowledge and a very amusing guide. Oh and some beer too. What's not to like?

Having visited many watering holes in York over the years, I thought the city has given me all it could offer, but I was wrong. Looking to introduce friends to the joys of one of the most history rich cities in England, I decided to try a liquid history tour, with at least the expectation that they would treat my friends to more than the tour of mediocre establishments serving British made lager and poor repartee I could offer. Thank goodness I did. The guide was eloquent and witty, with an appropriate level of craic. The wonderful historical detail delighted my party, while the wide choice of quality beer slaked their thirst. The group was made up of interesting parties, including a charming pilot and his garden designer boyfriend. Contact details were exchanged, and we all left with a desire to unearth more of what York has to offer and new acquaintances that will hopefully blossom into friendships. Well done liquid history tours.
