Stop At: Lake Champlain, Lake Champlain

Our tour starts on the waterfront of beautiful Lake Champlain where we will look far back in time to this area before Europeans and the cultures and people that called this place home.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, 1 College Street, Burlington, VT 05401-5215

In part because of the incredible natural surroundings, Vermonters have always been deeply passionate about the environment. From the forests of old, to the forests of new, we'll explore just how this place protects its land.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Follett House, 69 College St, Burlington, VT 05401, USA

This is the last of what used to be a row of mansions built with the wealth of the industrial revolution. Follett was no exception - with a life story as intertwined in Vermont history as any.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: 95 College St, Burlington, VT 05401, USA

This street is so named for a one of the powerhouses of Burlington - the University of Vermont! Its history is intertwined with this town and we'll explore that in more detail while learning about some of the more unique inventions from Burlington's history.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: City Hall Park, 149 College Street, Burlington, VT 05401

Urban renewal is a concept most urban dwellers engage with daily - Burlington pioneered it with their commons - a music-filled gathering point for residents and visitors alike. Learn how this city established a path others followed decades later to make the new American city.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, 153 Main St, Burlington, VT 05401-8402

We love a good show - as the largest theater between Albany and Boston, the Flynn has it all - musicals, rock bands, comedy tours. Some of those visitors have been quite famous and gotten up to some crazy antics while here, we'll tell you more when you get here..

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Courthouse Plaza, 199 Main St, Burlington, VT 05401, USA

Most people think its odd that we include a courthouse on a daytime tour - but we think a good ghost story can be scary during the day too - take a stop to learn about some secrets of old-time Burlington.

Duration: 5 minutes

The tour guidance and historical content were entirely written. We were able to take our time at each stop to relax and read the material. We were able to set our own pace.

We have never been to Vermont and love to learn the history of cities we visit and walk around to get a more intimate feel of the place. This tour was perfect for that! We learned about the history of Burlington, saw some of the sites, and got some walking in!
