I really enjoyed this walking tour. Duncan not only looks the part but is obviously passionate about what he does. My favourite part was the underground part of the walk through the air raid shelters and the bar under the Corn Exchange. It is set up like a museum with loads of war time artifacts and stuff from the 40s, 50s & 60s. Would recommend this tour very much to anyone, whether visiting Bristol or living here. Even got a group photo sent by email the next day, where Margaret the ghost made an appearance! much to my delight. Thank you Duncan!

This was a very interesting tour of previously hidden from the public areas of old Bristol. Duncan is a wealth of knowledge about the area and his enthusiasm as a historian is contagious. Being from Bristol, I had had no idea about the air raid shelter under St Nicks I was keen to explore it and found it has barely changed since the blitz in WW2. I would love to see this as a permanent museum . The space has already been well kitted out with historical items from the war. It was fascinating to look around and Duncan's narrative was enlightening and had the right balance of humour and education. We also had the chance of exploring the hidden roof top scultures at the corn exchange/ St nicks Market. I really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend going. For visitors to Bristol and Bristolians alike.

What a fabulous experience! I was so absorbed in the immersive stories and environment that the two hours flew quickly by! Duncan has a gift for sharing history, and the air raid shelter is unique and interesting. Highly recommend! It is wonderful to have something like this in Bristol to honor the experience of those who lived in Bristol during WWII.

Interesting and informative. Well worth the fee spent. Good to see the centre of Bristol from a different side. Thanks.

Duncan made this walking tour really interesting. He clearly has an in depth knowledge of the history of Bristol, but kept a good balance between fact, anecdote and humour. His enthusiasm is infectious - I could well understand why he is so passionate about building the WWII memorial in the air raid shelter into a permanent museum. His architectural interest was very clear from the way he was able to point out particular features of the Corn Exchange carvings and frequent remodelling. Do go - it was well worth it.

Very much enjoyed this tour. Learnt a lot about Bristol and got to experience a snippet of what life was like in the air raid shelters. Duncan has done a great job in keeping the history alive and I strongly recommend everyone visit.

This was a repeat visit for us with my Sister and Brother in Law. Duncan was a superb guide with a wealth of information and a good sense of humour. After returning home I re-watched my recording of the BBC programme - Blitz- The Bombs That Changed Britain. Episode 4 deals with the bombing of the Castle Park area. One to watch out for if repeated. Sadly not on Iplayer at the moment.
