We thoroughly enjoyed the Tour. We learned much about Trier History, German History, Roman History. Many Roman buildings (Porta Nigra) and many early churches. The guide was very knowledgeable. He went at our pace, staying as long, or short as we chose. We highly recommend this Tour.

Trier is Germany's oldest city and an important site for ancient art treasures and monuments, such as the Porta Nigra, the best-preserved city gate from the ancient world. I chanced upon it when i googled for Germany oldest city. There are many historical building and pretty gardens. It has one of the nicest street too. Full of small town charm too. It has some nicest Germay-Asian Japanese restaurant too. For me what attracts me is ART, this is one city where you can find discover masterpieces of Romanticism, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. From catherdral to basilisca, etc. You must walk and enter to these historical building inorder to appreciate their uniqueness. Every one of them is a masterpiece, has its own charactet, design and meaning. You can not find such a collection of styles elsewhere in the world.

A great private tour of Trier for my husband, our adult daughter, and myself. ! If you love history, this tour is for you! Dr. Nollen has a wealth of knowledge about the city and its Roman, Christian, and modernist heritage. We were privy to many hidden gems in the city we would have missed otherwise. We saw all the major sights too. Did I mention it was the coldest day of the year? He went out of the way to show us many indoor treasures so we wouldn’t freeze to death! Thank you Dr. Nollen!

Trier was beautiful! And Peter was the best guide ever! He told us so much about the city that we never would have known had we toured ourselves. Had dinner at Ratskeller - also fabulous! Great great day!

This was a lovely experience and introduction to Trier for my husband and me. Peter is a very nice and knowledgeable man — and was the perfect guide around the city for us. He messaged us ahead of time (or actually his wife did, on his behalf) to confirm all the details and arrange for Peter to meet us in our hotel lobby at the start of our tour, since we were staying right in Old Town. They also recommended some local restaurants, and I’m very glad we made recommendations at their favorite spot — it was top notch. The tour itself was lovely — very informative and clearly catered to the two of us. We are quick walkers and were clearly interested in all Peter had to share, so we spent some extra time together and saw some extra things. I also appreciate that Peter showed us some items a bit off-the-beaten-path (such as the otherwise inconspicuous Jewish memorials).

This was a lovely experience for my husband and me to get to know Trier and its history. The guide Peter (or rather his wife, on his behalf) messaged us ahead of time to find out if we were staying at a hotel in the area (so Peter met us in our hotel lobby for our tour to make things easier). They also recommended a couple of restaurants ahead of time, and I’m glad we listened to their recommendation and made reservations there — it was top notch. Peter himself is a lovely gentleman who clearly loves history and has been doing these tours for a long time. He is friendly and nice, and adjusts the tour to each individual group as needed. We were fast walkers and clearly enjoyed learning all the history he had to share — so we spent some extra time together to see more stuff. I also really enjoyed some of the smaller, more off-the-beaten path things he pointed out — such as the inconspicuous memorials to the town’s Jewish population lost during WWII.

Peter has an unbelievable amount of history and information. He knows how to tie it altogether and is tireless. I would really recommend him.
