The works of art have become iconic on the landscape, after being modelled on real-life icons of times gone by Clydesdale horses Duke and Baron. The Kelpies represent the lineage of the heavy horse of Scottish industry and economy, pulling the wagons, ploughs, barges and coalships that shaped the geographical layout of Falkirk.

Royal Burgh of Culross

(Pass by)

Historic Culross is one of Scotland’s most picturesque towns. It is believed that Culross was founded by St Serf, and is located in the south west of Fife, overlooking the Firth of Forth. This charming town is about as close to stepping back in time to the 16th century as possible. The whitewashed, red-tiled buildings are well preserved, such as the Town House, where witches were tried and held while awaiting execution.

Our driver was great - very friendly and full of knowledge of the area. The van was super cozy, so it was a great way to tour the sites. It was nice not having to stress about driving, where to park, etc. They took care of everything including booking a nice restaurant for lunch. We had a lovely day touring Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument. Our driver also took some nice detours to show us some great photo opportunities. Highly recommended.

Our driver William was wonderful. He was informative and very personable. He adjusted our trip to meet our interests of more historical sites (we omitted the Kelpies and added two additional castles). The countryside is beautiful. While driving we discussed politics, Brexit, the next Scottish referendum, the British economy and Scottish History. All in all it was a wonderful day. We highly recommend it.
