Rothenburg is such a fairy tale village. It’s like what they illustrate in fairy tale books. There are a lot of beautiful medieval houses that are well preserved. The food is amazing as well. You should include it into your itinerary. Our guide is really nice, informative and very accommodating.

Tour was good, everything was perfectly on time. Monica was a really good guide, although I think it was too much information and we felt sleepy.

If you are traveling to Munich, I would say leave some time to see Rothenberg. While it takes about 2 1/2 to get there it is definitely worth it. It is a charming Medieval village filled with cobble stone streets, beautful homes, shops and restaurants. We loved it.

We have used Viator tours in several countries and have found them to be reliable and dependable. This tour was the exception. The company Viator contracted for this tour, Grayline Day Tours: Romantic Road: Rothenburg and Harburg was not customer focused. From the start they seemed unorganized and unsure during check in and boarding. The electronic ticket I downloaded had some issue and the guide had to call someone to come manually check me in. Then we found that the seats we selected had no functioning ac. Nothing was blowing out yet the guide kept telling us it was hot because we picked the upstairs front window. Speaking of windows, the left side seats (occupied by our friends) had no curtain while our side had a broken curtain which I had to rig with a bandaid to keep it pulled to block thw sun. Additionally the cup holder had no holder, just a hole. We figured out how to turn on the defrost in order to have any air circulating. Going wasn’t as bad as our return trip. The driver should have come back to the bus at least 30 minutes (if not more) to start the bus and get the inside cooled off before we were scheduled to board for our return ride. There were passengers dripping sweat and they were not sitting in the front window seats. We saw other bus drivers washing the windows of their buses to clean the big guys off while their customers were visiting various locations. Ours did not. I’m not sure if this was his first drive but he couldn’t stay between the lines on the road as we traveled. Both he and the guide were nice but both seemed new and unsure of themselves. The most disappointing part of the trip was the 10euro price Grayline Fay Tours charged for Harburg Castle. Not because it was a surprise but because when we entered we saw the guided tour rate of 5euros was the fee for entrance and not 10euros. We felt cheated and as if they took advantage of us. Rothenburg was beautiful and the time we spent there was lovely. Overall we would not go on any tours Viator contracts with Grayline.

Johny was such a nice and knowledgeable guide and we are really glad he was our guid. Robert was an excellent driver. Hapsburg castle was really cool. But the star of the tour is the town of Rothenburg.

Easy to find meeting point, lovely friendly guide who gave us lots of information. Right amount of time in each place, a great day out.

Almost all the shops and restaurants were closed at this period. Crowds were at a minimum. The criminal museum is good information and can spend an hour in there.

We had a great time ! Jacqueline our guide was fantastic . She made sure that we received all the information on how to navigate our time in Rothenburg which was the highlight for us. The bus ride which took a couple of hours went very smoothly with our driver . I say when in Munich , book this tour . Spend a day to view the beautiful sights outside the city .
