Me and my partner went on the terror tour at 9pm. The guide, Dom, was entertaining, charismatic and informative. If you wanna see the vaults and get a bit scared Id definitely recommend. Cracking way too spend the evening 10/10

Our tour started rather wet with a huge hailstorm but was still worth it. Really interest learning about the vaults and the history of the place. Our tour guide Ally was great, very clear and knowledgeable and she dealt very well with the fairly big group with the added tipsy women! Well worth the money and something a bit different . We really enjoyed it 😀

This tour is an absolute MUST if you are into the spooky but very real side of old Edinburgh. We did the late-night underground vaults terror tour, that starts at 10PM and finishes at 11:15PM, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide Stewart was amazing and kept everyone completely immersed throughout. He was so detailed with every explanation and it truly felt like we were being taken back in time to a very dark and gruesome period in Edinburgh’s history. It wasn’t just a story telling experience, it was a genuine walk through of day to day life in the vaults. Before going into the vaults, you are taken into a dark room full of old age torture methods and tools on the walls. We were able to walk around the room looking at the tools and reading the descriptions beneath each one. Even though you could find humour in some, they definitely weren’t humorous back then. The iron mask (scold’s bridle) being one. Stewart threw some humour into the tour, when appropriate, and a jump scare towards the end which scared us all half to death!! I could not recommend this tour enough, if you like scary adventures but are also a nerd for history then this is 100% for you!!
