    I recently took part in a late-night underground terror tour in Edinburgh, starting at 10pm, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget! Our guide, James, was absolutely fantastic. His enthusiasm and deep knowledge of Edinburgh's dark history were evident throughout the tour. James was not only informative but also incredibly funny, making the entire experience both educational and entertaining. The tour began with a fascinating walk along the Royal Mile, where James shared gripping tales of the history surrounding a former prison. His storytelling truly brought the past to life. From there, we descended into the vaults – an eerie and mysterious part of the tour that added an extra layer of thrill. One highlight was when James delved into the history of public shaming and the various devices used in the past, for both adults and children. As part of the tour’s interactive nature, James asked if anyone was left-handed, and when I raised my hand, I was immediately ‘accused’ of being a witch! James made several witty remarks about this throughout the tour, which had the whole group laughing and added a personal touch to the experience. James ensured that everyone felt safe and encouraged us to ask questions, which he was more than happy to answer. His passion for the history and his ability to engage with the group truly made the tour special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Whether you’re a history buff, thrill-seeker, or just looking for a unique way to explore the city, this tour is a must-do. And if you’re lucky enough to have James as your guide, you’re in for a treat!

    went on the tour when visited edinburgh, it was a great tour, and very informative about edinburghs past, tour guide jordan was also great, and very funny. made the group laugh quite alot. would definitely recommend going on this tour.

    Louisa, our tour guide, had a wonderful swagger with which she presented the stories. The design of the tour is quite ingenious to put you on edge, and executed perfectly by Louisa. Really enjoyed, better than standard ghost walks through a combination of use of lighting and personal accounts. Hope her mum reads this!

    James was an incredible tour guide on the Terror Tour! He had so much energy and was very accommodating, helping me rebook so I could get on the tour! His positive energy was contagious and playfully spooky, and had everyone on their toes! He peppered in lots of great anecdotes, tales from the past, and true stories. He took great care for our safety as well ensuring that we watched our heads when there were occasional low ceilings and made sure we knew if we felt claustrophobic he would pause the tour to escort someone out. Since the tour was 18+ it felt safer in some of the more theatric moments and we could go into a little more gory detail on some of the torture devices. Thanks for keeping us safe, informed, and helping us have fun while keeping us on our toes

    Edinburgh Old Town

    This is a special 75 minute over-18's only exploration of Edinburgh's darkest history and paranormal secrets. You will be taken on a journey down into the infamous underground vaults. Who were the infamous characters that once roamed these areas, leaving behind a legacy of legend and notoriety? The South Bridge Vaults has even higher levels of paranormal activity late at night, approaching the witching hour, your tour is the prime time to explore these haunted and eerie locations for yourself. Ask your guide about their own paranormal experiences and hear about some of the reports we regularly receive from visitors, paranormal investigators and mediums. Finally you shall receive free access to a torture exhibition to see the instruments from the “Burning Times”, used to extract confessions, and punish the unfortunate. Dare you join for this celebration of the paranormal and macabre? Who knows what might happen? Will the Poltergeist attack? You have been warned.
