    Colin was a great tour guide! He was very informed and balanced his knowledge with humour and gentle wit. We went with our 3 children who all grew up with the Harry Potter books. Really enjoyed hearing about the history of Grey friars graveyard, somewhere I had always wanted to visit. The quiz element of the tour was fun too.

    The tour guide was amazing in every way! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! So knowledgeable but definitely interesting even if you haven’t read every book - a perfect mix of history and harry potter information.

    Greyfriars

    We begin our tour in the city's historic Greyfriars Kirkyard where JK Rowling spent a lot of time while writing the books. Here we'll see several names on gravestones that inspired characters in the series including William McGonagall and Thomas Riddell. From here we will also see two potential inspirations for Hogwarts in the form of George Heriot's School and Edinburgh Castle.
