Very disappointing experience. The tour was sold as "Beers, Whiskys and Gins of East Lothian". Only when we were already sitting in the bus, we were told that there would be no visit at the brewery, that was the main reason for us to book this particular tour. The driver tried to contact the tour operator for an explanation, but the only reason given was that they had stopped the co-operation with the brewery??? This was never communicated beforehand, and had we known this at an earlier stage, we would have cancelled the tour. Very poor communication! The whisky and gin part of the tour was fine and the driver was very nice and knowledgably.

The guides were terrific; knowledgeable, full of stories and advice. I had an excellent group, small and companionable. A shout out to Doug and Grant. While I'm about it, I also recommend Elder York Hotel in Edinburgh. They are a small, locally-owned, well-located (100 feet from the bus station where groups meet up or very close to Rabbies itself). What a magical, awe-inspiring trip.

A fabulous day. Graham, the driver / tour guide was spot on with great banter and stories. The highlight by far was NB Gin Distillery - great fun and generous samples. North Berwick was a nice spot for lunch and the day finished with a good tour of Glenkinchie Whisky distillery.

Die Tour im Kleinbus ist nicht nur ein Chauffieren von A nach B. Graham der Tourguide hat die Wegzeiten zwischen den Fixpunkten extrem kurzweilig gestaltet, in dem er mit seinem tollen schottischen Akzent und Humor vieles zu erzählen wusste über Whisky, die Stadt und allgemein Schottland. Zwischendurch hat er typische schottische Lieder eingespielt, was die Ausfahrt durch die Natur und die Küste zu einem unserer Highlights gemacht hat. Die Glenkinchie Distillerie ist wirklich detail verliebt und aufwändig gestaltet für Kenner und Neulinge. Der Tourguide in Glenkinchie hat sich sämtliche Namen notiert und die Besucher dann in der Tour miteinbezogen. Man wird auch während dem Tasting begleitet und lernt am "eigenen Leib" den Whisky kennen und vielleicht auch lieben. Auch ein Geburtstagsgeschenk (kleiner Whisky, Sonderabfüllung) wurde spontan organisiert. Die NB Distillerie war liebenswert und die Dame war zwar nervös aber sehr bemüht. Alles in allem ein gelungener Tag und in der Kleingruppe war ein toller Austausch möglich.
