Absolutely wonderful tour with Thistle Tours. It was just us and another couple so we were able to customize the tour to our liking. Very knowledgeable

I would absolutely recommend this tour! We were on a cruise and booked this outside of the cruise. Our tour guide was Emma and she couldnā€™t have been more knowledgeable and fun! We had guided time and free time to explore on our own. This was much cheaper than the cruise offered and so much fun!

Dunrobin Castle is a fairytale place from the outside, but you can see once inside, how it was a real home. It feels like when the doors are shut at night, people are still living there. The lawns are not the manicured Versailles type, but orderly and unique with hedge bridges you can walk under. Very peaceful. And, an added special event was a falcon/hawk show on the lawn by the lake. It was memorable. I wish my kids were as obedient as the falcon and hawk that flew above us and captured things. Great day!

Great locations to visit and our guide went out of her way to offer us extras. We had a small group of 5 and since we had time, our guide drove us through a lovely town not listed on the itinerary and down a nature path to see sealions. The guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We had a beautiful day.

Great tour with David! Wonderful castle visit and outstanding tour of Clynelish distillery! Very informative history and information provided by David!

We had a very nice tour of the beautiful countryside. The castle is amazing! The distillery and whiskey tasting were very interesting. We didn't get to see the Dornach village or shops probably because of lack of time.

Our trip started off a little rocky as there was a mix up with our tour guide, but it was rectified and we felt very fortunate to be guided by a very knowledgeable, friendly, witty Scotsman named Len. He knew the area and history of our designated stops as well as pointing out many more sights and locations along the way, providing historical facts, folklore, and current details for each. The castle and falcon demonstration were very interesting. Recommendation, try the haggis in the castle cafe, it was delicious! We had an amazing day!

The castle and the gardens were gorgeous! The Glenmorangie Dustillery was also very interesting, as I wanted to learn how scotch is made. The countryside was fitted with sheep- such lovely countryside! However, our guide was not the best. She didnā€™t give us much Scottish history of the area, not very knowledgeable.

Emma was extremely accommodating on our tour. My husband has difficulty walking long distances and see made accommodations for him. We enjoyed the day with her. she even added some things t ht the wanted to see. I highly recommend this tour.

On a 2-week cruise that visited several Scottish ports, we eschewed the cruise line's offerings and hired Thistle for our Invergordon land excursion. Our impression that we were going to be in a bus with a larger group proved wrong. We had a minivan and driver to ourselves (we learned that they will adapt vehicle size to size of group, and we were two). Our tour was scheduled to visit the Balblair Scotch distillery--in which we had little interest--the town of Dornoch, and Dunrobin Castle, which was the focus of our interest. Our driver, David, was extraordinary. The distillery was an old, family run distillery that proved much more interesting than we had believed possible. Dornoch was delightful, and Dunrobin was special, and featured a falconry show. Throughout, David offered historical perspective and was a superb guide. The weather in Scotland is unpredictable, and it did rain a few times during our tour, but the rain did not bother us.
