This is one of the oldest parishes of Madeira Island, created following Funchal and Machico, shortly after the death of infant D. Henrique in 1460. Ribeira Brava is also located in a place of central accessibility, connecting by land to the north of the island, through the gorge of Serra de Agua and Encumeada, where you have panoramas of immense beauty. By sea it was soon endowed with a small port that made the important freight connections to Funchal.

Caminho Real da Encumeada PR12

Even today one of Seixal's many charms is its calmness, combined with the beauty of a landscape painted by the green of the mountain and the crystal blue of the sea. This is the beautiful landscape of one of the most popular beaches in this parish, Porto do Seixal Beach, a natural black sand beach located next to the port of Seixal. With a fantastic landscape to the green cliffs and mountains of the north of the island.

This was my second tour with this company. The day was varied and was made all the more enjoyable thanks to our excellent driver, Sergio 😊 As a solo female traveller, I was made to feel very comfortable, which was greatly appreciated!

Guide was good in trip and explanations. Vehicle was poor in that air conditioning didn't work well, to the point that we were prepared to leave the tour and take a cab or bus back to our hotel. Also, he regularly did not accompany us to sites to give futher information, as we saw with other operators.

Did several trips, this was by far the best. Views were amazing and and covered best part of the island. Driver very knowledgeable and fun. Great driving, felt very safe on the mountain roads!!

Thoroughly recommend- the tour was excellent. Our guide gave lots of interesting information (but not too much to take in). The coach sat 16 people (plus the driver) and was very comfortable. Saw lots of interesting places and got to spend 2 hours in Porto Moniz (longer than many other similar tours) so had plenty of time for a swim in the lava pools there.

We were very well looked after and felt extremely safe throughout the tour. Our driver was very knowledgable and passionate about the island. Great experience and would thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants a taste of the island.

The tour guide, Renato, was a treat! Extremely knowledgeable, very funny and and all around brilliant guide. He showed us the best of Madeira and we loved seeing what the Island has to offer

Très bonne prestation. Guide très sympathique. Elle ne parlait pas français bien que nous avions demandé un guide qui parle français lors de la réservation, nous n'avons pas pu profiter des explications partagées pendant la journée.
