Giuseppe is a fantastic tour guide. He made it easy for us to meet up with him, and he was completely in tune with our interests and made special efforts to accommodate them. For example, I was interested in wildflowers, especially orchids, and he helped us find and identify at least five different types of orchids that were in bloom. He was 100% knowledgeable about the area, including the history, the flora, and the terrain, and he was prepared, supplying us with trekking poles where the terrain was rough. I'm sorry I didn't have enough time to go with him on another tour!

An amzing tour! To discover the ancient history of Sicily, walking through the beautiful caniyons of Calcinara and Anapo rivers, surrounded of the unique nature, aquamarine clear water of the rivers and caves, shaped over the senturies - priceless. Pantalica is everithing - history, archaeology, nature.. It has to be experienced! Thank you Giuseppe!

Pantalica is absolutely beautiful and the history behind the place is amazing. At one point, we saw a still-functioning acqueduct carved thousands of years ago into the side of a cliff with ancient cave tombs overhead.
Incredible place and I couldn't believe I had never heard of it before. Giuseppe, a native of Sicily, is more than knowledgeable about the history and he's clearly passionate about nature. I had a fantastic time and I'd recommend this trip to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip to a part of Sicily off the beaten path. The nature reserve is quiet and very beautiful. Giuseppe is an excellent guide. He is extremely knowledgeable of the historic importance of the sites we visited and his familiarity with the reserve’s flora and fauna made the tour particularly interesting. Giuseppe was good company throughout the hike and made our experience memorable.

In May 2019, Giuseppe (Pepe) took our group of four from Ortigia to the Pantalica nature reserve. The drive was less than two hours, and wound through the beautiful Sicilian countryside.
Pepe took us to several sights, beginning with a short/easy walk to some ancient tombs, then to ancient dwellings, and finally a walk down to a river. The history is amazing, and like all of Sicily, involved native peoples, Greeks, Romans and Moors.
I live in Northern California, and the wildflowers on this walk definitely surpassed our local ones! I have included a couple of pictures, but they don't really convey what we saw live.
Pepe was sensitive to the abilities of our group. He paced the walk down to the river so that all of us could easily make it, and I'm sure he would amp things up for other groups.
Pepe was also extremely knowledgable about the wildlife, and in the rare case he didn't know the answer to a question, he told us he didn't know. (I'm convinced a lot of tour guides just make stuff up.) He seemed to know the homeopathic application of all of the plants around us.
I highly recommend this experience.
