This bike tour starts in Torre del Colle - 3kms from Bevagna - listed one of the most beautiful "borgos" of Italy. We will cycle to Bevagna first, to learn about its history and lively medieval traditions. Crossing the Umbrian Valley we will cycle along country roads and green fields, mostly flat, free from traffic roads, enjoying the landscape and soaking up its peaceful atmosphere. Stopping along the way to appreciate the beauty of the Umbrian valley, on this bike tour you will learn about the local culture and traditions through the stories of our local cycling guide. After the ride we will relax at a family run Agriturismo for lunch, tasting delicious organic products that make Umbria one of the top Italian destinations for food& wine lovers, like us! A swimming pool is available during the summer...

What an absolute joyous day riding through Umbria with such a kind, positive and caring gentleman Daniele! Not only the bike ride, but add in the history we learned of Bevagna! Wow! Our stop at Il Cerreto , a lovely family run restaurant and farm house, was so memorable. We had the place to ourselves. You know that the food was made with love. In fact it was, by Mama ! We thoroughly enjoyed watching the family traditions take place in the restaurant and out on the farm. Would highly recommend this unforgettable tour while in this area.

We had an outstanding time with Daniele. My wife and are novice bicyclists. Dani first of all took the time to properly choose and set up the bicycles for our size and explained our route and what expect. Daniele treated us to breakfast in Bevagna and shared the history and significance of the town. He then led us down and through the countryside explaining the crops and the people that make up this region of Umbria. When we arrived at the Agriturismo where we took our lunch, we were first of all treated to a refreshing swim in their lovely pool. We then were treated to a fantastic farm fresh Organic lunch prepared by “mama” paired with the perfect local wine, finishing off with a beautiful tart and espresso. After another dip in the pool, we set off for our return to the castle. This experience was one of the highlights of our Italy vacation. I couldn’t recommend any trip higher than this one with Daniele. Grazie Mille.

My husband and I consider ourselves very fortunate to have both met and booked tours with Daniele and Laura!!! On this tour we spent a lovely day biking backroads through the beautiful Umbrian countryside and small villages. During the ride we made stops at local historical sites where Daniele shared fascinating local history. Biking along with Daniel while listening to music from his bike speaker, we felt a bit like locals out for an afternoon ride! We topped it off with a visit to a local family farm and enjoyed wine, a lunch of delicious local fare, great conversation and a refreshing outdoor pool! La bella vita! Daniele, a world traveler himself, has developed a keen eye for beauty, a discerning palate and a deep appreciation for the little things that make a place SO charming and special. If you want to see the countryside of Umbria Valley while biking with an energetic friendly guide then Greenways Italy Bike Tours is for you. Daniele and Laura together have established a very quant bike shop that truly show cases their inner personality. My husband and I had the pleasure of biking with Daniele accompanied by Italian music while we biked along. A very lovely touch that Daniele asked us if we would like to hear as we biked. We bike through charming towns on our way to our lunch spot at a local Agriturismo. A true delight! Our 10 course meal was absolutely amazing. We were fortunate to meet our chef Ma Ma who has been published with her cooking. This working farm is a full family endeavor. Daniele and Laura have chosen well the right Agriturismo to complete their bite portion of the bike trip with. If you want to have the most enjoyable 6 hours of your day biking and tasting. Where do I start to describe THE VERY BEST day in our 2 month trip in Italy. We were so fortunate to find Daniele and Laura's business, GreenWays Italy. From initial contact through to deciding which tour to take - and then to the actual cycle tour, all was simply sensational. Oh, and they even seem to have a direct contact with the weather, as the day turned out perfect, weather-wise. We chose the tour through villages, farmland and olive groves - up through Spello and higher to Collepino. Back to Spello for THE MOST AMAZING LUNCH and then a nice ride back to Torre del Colle. Altogether we rode a nice 58 kms. Have I said it was sensational yet? Daniele was a treasure-trove of useful and interesting local knowledge as well as historical-with-a-personal touch. This is one Italy-event that you must do. Whichever tour you choose, Daniele and Laura will tailor it to your needs, capability and wishes. You can choose a regular touring bike - or there's an option for E-bike (handy if you choose the super recommended Collepino leg). Just do this tour .... it will be a highlight of your Italy trip - you have my word on that. And it was all ......SPECTACULAR!!!
