What to expect
Castello Normanno Svevo
Complete visit of the Norman-Swabian Castle and the Gipsoteca, housed inside, where you can admire 130 models that portray the masterpieces of the Apulian Romanesque. Capitals, shelves, statues and architectural details faithfully reproduced in 1911 by the sculptors Pasquale Duretti and Mario Sabatelli. The price includes the entrance ticket to the Castle.
Strada delle Orecchiette
Once out of the Castle, we reach the alley of the Arco Basso, where real "street artists" from the Bari cuisine sit, one after the other, modeling the "orecchiette" (typical pasta) with their quick hands .
Cattedrale di San Sabino
Visit the exterior of the Cathedral, history and architecture.
Basilica San Nicola
History of the Byzantine Citadel and St. Nicholas, with a view of the Basilica (external)
Muraglia di Bari Vecchia
Walk on the Wall of Bari Vecchia (Via Venezia) with a panoramic view of the city and some bastions.
Fortino S. Antonio
Located in front of the old port, it is one of the four ramparts that marked the walls of Bari until the nineteenth century and represents the highest point of the old city from which it is possible to embrace the traces of the medieval walls behind the Imperatore waterfront. Augusto (left) and the profile of the waterfront dating back to the first half of the 20th century (right).
Piazza del Ferrarese
History of the Piazza, known in the past as Piazzetta d’armi, obtained where the Sea Gate stood. Today it represents the dynamic point of connection between the historic center and the Muratian village of the city.
