Great tour. Brigitte had so much knowledge it was hard to pack into just the half day. Couldn't recommend this tour highly enough.

Had a fantastic tour with Brigitte who modified the day to incorporate a New Zealand focus for me. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the Somme and was able to share details of her experience growing up on a farm in the area and sharing the experiences of a local who absorbed so much knowledge of the history through her childhood. On top of all that Brigitte is really good company too. This was the best day of my trip to France and I recommend this experience to everyone.

The half day tour with Brigitte was amazing. Extremely interesting and informative. Brigitte’s native language is French but she speaks excellent English having lived in the UK for numerous years and therefore was able to give us the tour in English. Brigitte had a fountain of knowledge regarding the battles and, being from the area, gave us lots of extra information and history regarding the surrounding villages. We would most definitely recommend this tour.

Brigitte was my guide. Very knowledgable, engaging, terrific grasp of so many details regarding the Great war. Her personal perspective of family in the Ancre valley was particularly informative. Would highly recommend her to others.

Brigitte, was knowledgeable and really brought the Somme battles to life. She added recollections from her childhood and together with her battlefield knowledge, provided an engaging and humbling overview of the conflict. She even managed three inquisitive Englishman's questions. Thanks, Graham

Our guide Brigitte was excellent. She met us at the Somme museum in Albert, showed us around, before driving us around various memorials and landmarks in the area. We had a couple of places we wanted to stop off and she tailored the tour accordingly. It was a great day, and Brigitte was very knowledgeable about the area and history.

Brigitte is an excellent tour guide who offers much valuable insight and profound depth of expertise. Having been raised with the Somme as her own backyard, she brings the personal as well as professional perspective into her tour and you will not find better than one who was raised on stories recounted by that generation that lived these events themselves. With years previously invested working at the Somme 1916 Museum in Albert, her facts are encyclopedic in scope and her vivid descriptions of all that took place during the region’s battles truly transport her audience back in time to those sacred days. If you have an ancestor who fought or took part in these battles, Brigitte will provide you with extra-ordinary care— painstakingly researching the movements, monuments, memorials and people who are part of your family’s heritage. It has been one of my life’s most enduring goals to see the places where my family’s story was so sadly influenced. Brigitte made the achievement of that dream come true. I ended the tour with a much deeper appreciation and awareness of my family’s history and only regret that the hours passed by seemingly so quickly. Yet, every second spent with this amazing and extra-ordinary guide was very well spent — book early and when you can— you won’t want to miss out on such a transformative experience.

Brigitte was the most fantastic guide for our visit to the Somme. She has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject and area. Her friendly manner and enthusiasm brought the subject to life and made the visit something we will all remember for the rest of our lives
