Piazza Mercantile

The piazza has always represented the heart of commercial and administrative activities in the city due to the presence of the city market (not currently in this area) and of the palazzo Sedile, which is the historical reference point of Bari city Hall. Today, for the citizens of Bari it is an irreplaceable meeting point.

Piazza del Ferrarese

Piazza Ferrarese has always been one of the access points to the old town which, with its narrow streets, alleys and small openings, extends from Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile up to the Normanno -Svevo castle. During recent restoration, which involved not only the square but also the surrounding buildings, a short stretch of the ancient Via Appia – Traiana came to light, built by the Romans in the early second century A.D.

Castello Normanno Svevo

The Norman Swebian Castle hosts the collection of plaster casts and temporary art exhibitions.

We took a rickshaw tour with Christian and it was just amazing, Christian was supernice, telling a loads of things about Bari, making the best restaurant recommendations, taking us for the best ice cream in Bari and well, he was kind of a magician to make the rickshaw tour interesting for our 5-year old kid, as well, who doesn't speak English. :-)

Great way to get an intro tour of old town and to learn about the history of the area. The tour guide Alessia (sp) was excellent and took plenty of time to explain the different key features-and about the history of the local community. Her English was good and easy to understand. She also had to enjoyable surprises for us as well.

I highly recommend! They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to tailor the experience to our schedule. Our tour guide, Emanuela, was an absolute delight. She not only greeted us warmly but also shared her extensive knowledge with enthusiasm, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. Emanuela's insights into the history, local stories, culinary delights, and cultural nuances of Bari were truly enriching. Her passion for the city and its heritage was infectious, and it added a layer of depth to our visit that we wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations, thanks to the exceptional service and Emanuela's fantastic guidance. It was a highlight of our time in Bari, leaving us with fond memories and a deeper appreciation for this beautiful city.

This was a well run tour of Bari. We had a very knowledgeable guide who gave us a great insight to Bari and its many great places to visit.

changed our start time right before tour. Then we waited 10 past start time. Then we rode 30 seconds to a bakery shop right by the rickshaw place. Really? Waited 10 minutes in there without being helped so we took off again. Rode a little ways and lost one of the rickshaws, It broke down and they had to go back. This is an absolute waste of money. Everything you are taken to you can walk to. You go in a circle around the office.

We were upgraded to the rickshaw food tour so cannot rate this specific tour. The food was very good and Giada was a wonderful guide! Don't think we got as much history and Bari sights as the original 1.5 hour tour but still thoroughly enjoyed it.
