Magic fountain was made for the World´s expo in 1929. It had different changes and now every weekend it make light and music shows with different choreographies of water and soundtrack. It´s not just classical. You can find rock, pop, jaz, music from cinemas etc.
Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya - MNAC
The building was constructed for the World´s Fair in 1929. And in the beginning government of Barcelona wanted to make here a Museum of antic art, but after long debates they decided to focuse on something modern. Between 1996 and 2004, the palace was extended to accommodate the National Art Museum's entire collection of over 5,000 artworks.
L'Anella Olimpica de Montjuic
One of the most beautiful and calm places in Barcelona. It´s an a complex of building and squares made for Olympic games in 1992. Here you can find Palau de Sant Jordi, Europa Square, Olympic Museum, Baseball stadium etc.
Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium
This stadium was renovated for Olympic games. Actually initially it was built for in 1929 fo the World´s Fair. But in 1992 it became to be a part of "Olimpic ring”.
Montjuic Castle
This castle was built in the top of the mountain from where military could see all the city 360º. First edition was made in 1640 when Catalonia wanted to protect from Spain in 30 days. Thanks to it Catalonia was independent for 12 years. After and regarding a new wars first building was update a lot and many times. Now it´s historical and cultural center. Here local people can not just here about the past, they also can watch movies, visit exhibition of art and listen music.
Jardí Petra Kelly
Petra Kelly was an ecologic activist of XX century. The gardens that bear her name on Montjuic are open air museum of plants.
Jardins del Mirador del Alcalde
The history of Montjuic (Jewish mountain) begins before and is very related with the history of Barcelona. It always was an important point of the city defense. But now it´s an a park zone with a lot of different places to take a rest. We will stop first in Jardines del Mirador del Alcalde. From here you can see all Barcelona and also enjoy beautiful fountains and landscape of the park. This place was finished in 1969 and was a project of unpopular for now lider Francisco Franco.
