Your Itinerary

Bolzano Walks

Meet up with your guide to begin your walking tour, which offers an overview of Bolzano history and wine tradition. Your first food stall stop will present you with the opportunity to taste a Wuerstel (sausage), which is a typical example of Austrian and German tradition. Moving along, you will then visit a local bread producer where you'll enjoy a very special type of bread, Schuettelbrot. Next, you will head on over to the Franciscan Church. While here you will gain some knowledge about one of its famous guests. Afterwards, pop into the town’s oldest bakery to taste some local sweets and cakes. Continuing on, you’ll walk along the medieval street for your next stop, a popular Trattoria for a very Italian Happy hour with bruschette and a local cocktail.  In addition to your food journey, discover the Medieval arcades and stop at the town's oldest Inn for a beer tasting. Please note: places visited during your tour are subject to change due to shops availability.

Piero was a great guide. He gave us a great summary of the history of Bolzano and the Sudtirol, and explained why they are happy to be "Italians who speak German". After our history lesson, Piero took us through the outdoor market (held daily) and stopped in at several places for appetizers, wine, and dessert.

This was everything a food tour should be! Claudia provided a memorable experience for our group with all the touches of a true local. Grazie! Danke!

Talking about the history of Bolzano. Of course the delicious street food. We liked the bread, meats and cheeses.

The tour was fantastic! Even though the weather was grey and rainy, the guide’s sunny disposition made up for the lack of sun and warmth that day. The food was all delicious and gave a lovely overview of the local cuisines and the locals who made it. The guide was so knowledgeable and able to answer questions on a variety of topics all based around what the group’s interests were, from politics to architecture to even how wine is made. We had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who loves learning about food and culture from a local.

We booked Claudia’s Bolzano food tour as a part of our Italian honeymoon. Claudia went above and beyond to make our experience extra special. We learned so much history about the town and ate delicious food. Bolzano is a really neat, beautiful city and We really did feel like a local with her by our side. She was so knowledgeable and kind and we really feel like we made a new friend. She also went out of her way to email us an itinerary for our next location stop in Lake Garda. We did everything she suggested and it was so appreciated. Claudia offers many other tour experiences, so I would highly recommend looking into all she had to offer. We wish she could be with us the rest of our stay here in Italy! Thank you Claudia ! 10/10

What a great day with Claudia exporing the food and drink of Bolzano. This was much more than a food tour as Claudia is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its history. We sampled some street food and visited a couple of "locals" taverns that was a lot of fun. Thanks Claudia - you gave us a fantastic experience we won't forget!

We really enjoyed this walking food tour of Bolzano. Claudia taught us so much about Bolzano and its unique history while showing us hidden gems throughout the city centre. The foods and drinks that we tasted during the tour were fantastic! Some of the items we tried were tailored to the foods that were in season (November) that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to have. Claudia was also very generous and provided us with recommendations on restaurants to try based upon the things we told her we wanted to eat during our time in Bolzano. Whether you’re in Bolzano for the day or for multiple days, you should absolutely take Claudia’s tour.

We loved our tour with Claudia! We did this our first day in South Tyrol, so it was so helpful to get an overview of the history of the area, as well as have a local to explain the food and customs of the region. We tried tons of great foods and drinks, and really enjoyed chatting with Claudia in general.
