The tour ended up nothing like the description on the website. We went to one bar and had three glasses of different wines and three dishes of tapas. That is not the website description of the tour "spend an afternoon between tapas bars", "discover the pleasures of eating small dishes when visiting the best bars in Lisbon"...

This was a bait and switch situation. Huge Disappointment. False advertising!! We signed up for a walking food tour to explore Lisbon through food and all we got was an escort to one restaurant called Eat. Pray. Love. for 3 small glasses of wine and 3 tapas dishes. We called before we left the meeting site to speak to the manager - complained and asked for our money back and he denied us. The other people in the group left bc they were all disappointed. The restaurant didn’t educate us or explain the food or wine - just served it. So we literally just paid 45 euros per person to be walked to a restaurant that we never would have selected!! We expected like the description said to visit a few places. Have an experience. This was the description we thought we bought In Lisbon there is a great variety of taverns, still lifes, bars and restaurants where you can eat a good fried fish such as cod, typical meat dishes, sausages or cheeses and of course, a good Alentejo or Douro wine, local beer and typical spirits. Follow the example of the alfacinhos (inhabitants of Lisbon), and spend an afternoon between tapas bars! With an expert guide, you will learn about the history of Portuguese cuisine and discover the pleasures of eating small dishes when visiting the best bars in Lisbon. The guide will take you walking and chatting about the explosion of "petiscos" on the international scene until you reach the first bar. Complete the tapas circuit in Lisbon, continuing the afternoon of good food. The tour ends at the bar, leaving you perfectly located in the center of Lisbon.

The starting point was more than a mile up and downhill from the restaurant. That's right, the (singular) restaurant. We ended not where we began, as represented in the listing, but halfway across town. I picked the tour because I could easily get to and from the tour by Metro (subway). Not only did I not experience a selection of restaurants and their tapas, I was exhausted from the walking. The host was congenial, though.

Overall a good experience. We had a great guide, not of portugese origine but she knew all about Lisbon‘s and Portugal‘s history and food culture. We had three courses at a restaurant and tried three different wines. I would have appreciated trying more different dishes, maybe different restaurants/bars or more traditional tarvernas. Also I would‘t recommend booking the tour on trip advisor. I was charged 12 euros more than the other guys who had made a reservation and payed cash.

Our expectations may have been misplaced but we had expected to be going to a number of bars for the tapas and not just the one. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable and the bar that we went to was quite nice

The tour should provide as is described in their schedule. Not good value for money. We got 1 stop and fado music not food was the feature of the stop. When asked about other stops the guide said the itinerary had changed that day and we would only have 1 stop.

With a few elegant sentences at the beginning of the tour, our guide, Lulu, managed to bring us, an assorted bunch of tourists from all over the world, together to become a great group. We enjoyed the food & drinks and the fado - plus the company!- so much, that most of us stayed on together for quite a long time after the tour had officially ended. Lulu answered all our questions and we (group of 7 including school children) all had a wonderful evening! Thank you, Lulu, for making it so lovely!
