What to expect

1

La Citta Alta

Bergamo is the split-into-two town: Bergamo Alta (‘the high Bergamo”) and Bergamo Bassa (“the low town”), joined by the historic cable car. Within the heart of the beautiful Bergamo Alta, we selected the best preparations, capable of presenting in one dish the food culture of the area of Bergamo: from the farmers’ traditional meals, to the richly presented meats, to the gelato ‘stracciatella’, which was first created in Bergamo indeed. Escorted by our local Foodie, you will discover a secret itinerary enclosed within the walls of the Città Alta, created following strong flavours and delicate scents, starting from the origins of the Lombard tradition and taking us to the contemporary Bergamo food scene that we know today.

2

Palazzo Moroni

Let's start the tour with a typical aperitivo with toasted bread slices topped with local garnishments, sided by a glass of Valcalepio red wine

3

Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore

We then move to the second stop. In one of the most charming restaurants in town, we will taste the traditional casoncelli or the Foiade, the Sunday dish of the local tradition.

4

Piazza Vecchia

We'll pass by Piazza Vecchia and reach our next stop where we are going to taste the famous Polenta with lard and cheese.

5

Finally taste delicious ice cream, "stracciatella" flavour and the inevitable conclusion of every Italian proper meal: espresso coffee.

The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
