There is so much to explore & experience in Venice, so this might not tick every box for you being that it is just a day trip, but the itinerary gives you just enough free time to enjoy some of the highlights of this magical city! The tour begins with a very smooth high speed train ride. Enjoy the views of the Italian countryside, and bring a travel adapter & charger to use the outlets provided on the train. You will likely use your phone’s battery navigating through the town on your own, and taking pictures of the photogenic scenery. Upon departing from the train, Graziella & Grace were great tour guides! They expertly guided us through the town to the main square. Then, we were given a couple hours of free time to explore Venice, meeting back up for an Apertivo with the group before boarding the train back to Rome. Use Google Maps because Venice is tricky to navigate! My Wife & I had a nice lunch, went to the top of Campanile Tower (highly recommended) for a panoramic view of Venice (10 €). We enjoyed a 30 minute ride on a gondola for 90 € (we asked another couple if they wanted to join us, and we split the cost. Only ended up costing 45 € for us). If you want to get a feel for the vibe of Venice, this is a good entry point! You won’t see everything, honestly, but you can enjoy some of the highlights. We had a memorable time, and it made us want to make a return trip to this seaside town.

Venice is a beautiful city! Shopping is amazing and we loved the fact that for the most part it was self guided! Graziela was wonderful. And the train ride goes thru beautiful countryside!

The most memorable was the Gondole ride my husband and I took on our own. I expected an English tour instead the guide catered to Spanish speakers primarily. I was not happy because she moved quickly and it was hard to understand the sites and history in the City. Very disappointing for the price that was paid. I expected more from my tour! I do not recommend.

You don’t need a tour guide you just need to: - Figure out the train station - Decide whether you want a day trip or overnight trip (day trip is nice; multiple days is better if you can afford it) - Exchange your money ahead of time (preferably with your U.S. bank prior to arrival if possible); have plenty ready for Venice—most shops only accept euro or charge a hefty fee for cards - Do your research; figure out what’s important for you to see and do in Venice ahead of time, then make your plan (this could help inform whether you go for a day or several days) The main feedback I have on this trip is that it: - Felt hard to follow and disjointed due to accommodating several languages but advertising the accommodation of one; this made the informational session twice as long and took up too much of our time in Venice and when this might be a once in a lifetime experience - Had poor communication; we paid for the tour but were told several times we could go if we wanted—I would’ve rather the guide structured it as the first hour being the tour and then the last few hours being for shopping, eating, etc. The way it was communicated made it unclear whether we’d have any free time if we followed and created an unnecessary sense of urgency when Venice should’ve been a calming and romantic experience - Felt like being babysat; the belittling vibe from the guide wasn’t it - Had poor appetizers and drinks; not the best food or drink in Venice for the significant booking price of this journey - The value add was not worth the price and I have several other tour guided experiences to compare it to; so I don’t say this all lightly—it was disappointing I am not one to write poor reviews so trust me when I write this. Save yourself money. And enjoy Venice without a guide. If you do your homework ahead and actually read reviews like this, you’ll be okay. I wish I would’ve read more reviews on this journey prior to booking or trusted myself more. If you have ever navigated a subway or train station in your life, you’ll be able to figure this all out—that’s the part you need to focus on most. Good luck!

This was a great trip! Graziella did an amazing job getting our group there and back. She was also great with the walking tour to St Mark's square where we spent the majority of our time.

Lexie_E

Graziella was our tour guide and she was absolutely amazing! She spoke different languages to explain the tour to everyone in the group and she and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time and got the most out of the trip!

8 days in Italy, 5 day trips and this was the best! Venice itself is beautiful, and the group did a great job organizing this trip and relaying information. The guide was younger but entertaining. Unfortunately, he had to deal with a grumpy, older couple - he deal with them very well.

Koya_L

Valentina was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The train ride was really nice and Venice was really beautiful and there was so much to see
