Your Itinerary

Plaza de Ramon Berenguer el Gran

(Pass by)

The Gótico Food Tour starts here and takes you through Barcelona's famous Ciutat Vella (old city): past roman walls, alongside cathedrals, through precious plazas and, most importantly, in-and-out of small, local restaurants that will leave you sated, jolly and with a better understanding of local Catalan and national Spanish cuisine.

Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar

(Pass by)

En route between restaurants we will pass many notable sites in the Gothic Quarter, including the "Catedral Del Mar", which was built between 1329 and 1383 and is an exceptional example of Catalan Gothic style.

Muralla Romana

(Pass by)

We will also pass by some of the remnants of the Roman city wall of Barcelona (Muralla Romana), constructed largely in the 3rd century to ward off and protect from invaders.

Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic)

(Pass by)

The whole of our tour is centred around the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city of Barcelona. Its labyrinthine roads, many of which open out onto secluded squares, are now largely pedestrianised. It's an endlessly enchanting neighbourhood, and home to fantastic shops and, of course, some of the very best restaurants.

Maria was very welcoming and took us to three very nice spots. The food was good but did not seem particularly exceptional - which one would expect for a well curated tour at this price point. It was more like a friend showing you around vs a seasoned professional on a well curated food tour.

We had a wonderful evening with Allison, our tour guide. We had fun exploring the Gothic Quarter and the restaurants were outstanding. The food selections were amazing and Allison went out of her way to ensure everyone in our group was accommodated. Allison provided many tips for our trip as well. Loved the humor! And thanks for the great pictures too! Everyone in our group raves about the experience.

Not only was the tour and food great it was a lot of fun and we learned so much. The small group was very intimate and easy to talk and learn. The food was really tasty and plenty was had as was the wine and Cava. Allison was such a good guide and educated us about the Tapas and wine and was so fun.

A great tour that covered everything. Esther was knowledgeable about history, culture, food, and drink. As we strolled through the quarter, she gave us a history lesson. At the carefully selected restaurants, Esther explained not only the food and drink, but also their significance. I almost forgot to tell you everything was delicious and ample. A can't miss tour. An added bonus - Esther sent us an email with her private Barcelona recommendations - worth the price of another tour.

The experience our group had with The Barcelona Taste was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain. We had a wonderful dining experience at three exceptional restaurants, and Allison, our tour leader, was as delightful, charming and informative as she could be. She was extremely personable and blended the perfect mix of history, knowledge of the cuisine and area we visited, with great humor and friendliness. We highly recommend this tour (and Allison) as a way to delve into the cuisine and history of Barcelona.

This was so much fun! The three places that our guide took us to had absolutely fabulous food. In fact, I went back the next night to the restaurant where we had dessert because I wanted to try their main menu foods. Our guide really knew both the history of the area we walked through AND all about the food options. I'm traveling solo at the moment, and it was also fun to meet up with my fellow tour goers and share tapas and conversation with them.

It's difficult to have to write a less than great review, and the food was excellent, but our guide was not a great conversationalist and we participants sometimes had to drag information from him. He volunteered two or three things about the areas we walked through but otherwise walked by himself ahead of us. He did explain what we were eating and I think he was trying to be helpful, so three stars seems a reasonable compromise.

We took this food tour on our first night in Barcelona. There were six in our group all traveling together for the first time in Spain. We made 3 stops and were able to taste all the things that I’d read about - including vermouth, patatas bravas, tortilla espanola, croquetas and more. The food was excellent and we had a great ongoing conversation with Allison, our tour guide. The walking was easy. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Noah was organized, knowledgeable, and fun! Each stop was a new taste experience and wonderful! The wine was superb!

This was an excellent tour. Our guide was fantastic and was able to keep the group engaged with both food and conversation. Can't say enough about the wonderful places we visited. Off the beaten path and would not have found them without our tour. Food was high quality and delicious! I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly. Well worth the money and time.
