Pedro was our driver and guide. Absolutely wonderful! He picked us up from the cruise ship and started our journey with a trip to Sintra. Did the highlights as well as "off the beaten path". Gave us tips and tricks for each place. It was fabulous to know he was nearby whenever we were ready to leave or needed anything. Cascais was nice but seemed to be a little busy for us. We opted for Guincho Beach where we enjoyed a lovely lunch and watched the waves ( and learned that I really enjoy Port and Tonic)! Then off to Cape Roca (the western most point in Europe). We asked to stop at a fire department. Not a problem! It was a wonderful day, would highly recommend. Even days after our tour we reached out with some questions on places or "the name of that liquor?". I just text him to get the name of the beach without thinking about the 9 hrs ahead (sorry about that Pedro). 10/10 would def do it again!!

I booked this tour with Pedro after spending the previous day with him on a winner tour! We had such an amazing time that we booked him again for the next day! Originally I booked with another company, they cancelled last minute due to a strike at pena palace. This was our last day in Lisbon, and we were heartbroken to go home without seeing pena palace☹️ Pedro said he could take us to Sinatra and Cascais for a full day of castles and coastline views! We got to see pena palace from afar. We visited quinta de regaleira which was amazing. Pedro made lunch reservations for us at a locals spot. We could customize our day, as in another castle, stop for sangria along the ocean. Pedro was awesome!!! I would hands down book another tour with him!!!!!!

I would consider this tour the best way to experience Porugal in this region. Having such a knowledgeable guide and the comfort and convenience of a tour car was excellent. Magnificent sites complimented with detailed history by our guide. Highly recommended

What an incredible day with Joao! Possibly the best guided excursion we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Sintra, Cascais, and the other sites were absolutely phenomenal but it was Joao who made our day. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his country and the sites and an absolutely wonderful host. We spent a full day seeing and learning, but also in great company. Joao recommended a delicious restaurant for lunch - probably our favorite of our trip to Portugal. It was just a really outstanding experience from start to finish.

What an incredible day!! Jose is an incredible guide and is so knowledgable about the area! He also suggested an amazing restaurant for lunch! What a great way to see Sintra and get all the history and facts without having to be in a crowded group. Highly recommend this tour!

This is a must do day trip from Lisbon if you have time and there are many tour choices. We are so glad we chose this one because our tour guide Matthew was excellent! All the basics (prompt, professional, good driver, good language skills etc) but above and beyond with his ability to find out what we were interested in and tailor the tour to us and to always have the most interesting tidbits of information. He expertly guided us through the crowds to find good spots and shared his passion for his country and vast knoweldge. Sintra is magical, Pena Palace is fascinating and Roca Cape and Caiscais are beautiful. All are well worth seeing. Along the way we also got to taste local treats and have an excellent lunch overlooking the sea. Highly reccomend this tour!

Private tour is the way to go! We set our own pace during this over 8 hour tour, and our great tour guide, João Nunes, did a fantastic job of showing us the sites and answering our questions. The tour showed us many of the hidden gems of the areas just outside of Lisbon. Beautiful palaces, quaint towns, breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains. Highly recommend this tour! Note that the tour price does not include admission to some of the palaces and park spaces, but the additional costs are reasonable. What a great way to spend a day in Portugal!

There are many ways to explore Sintra and the surrounding neighborhood, however I couldn’t imagine coordinating this full action packed day without this tour. If you’re considering taking the train and navigating yourself, DONT as you’ll just cause a headache. Let’s start from the beginning - Joao picked us up promptly from our hotel, professional and friendly, he was full of energy and helped jumpstart our day. We drove to Sintra early because he knew we would get there before the crowds and have the castle to ourselves before the masses. I’m so glad we did, because pictures were amazing and it was nice not to wait on line. Important note that when you get to the base of the castle it is a very steep walk to the top so be prepared to climb or just wait for trolley. It was nice to stroll through grounds but was huffing up. When you get to the top it’s pretty breathtaking and lots of books to explore with amazing architecture. Joao helped us navigate the space and gave us the full history. The inside of the palace is also very beautiful full of original pieces. From there we traveled to Quinta de Regaleira where we also walked a good mile from town and up through the gate. You will do 7-8 miles of walking on this tour so be ready. This is where Joao really lit up as he gave us the history and rituals of the grounds and the beautiful initation well. There’s also a ton of great spots to take pics by waterfalls and the surround palace. Sintra itself is not very special as all the lunch places are super commercial and food is egh. However the highlight was a bakery called periquinta that serves delicious pastries that are super local. From there we drove to a beautiful lookout point, Cabo de Roca for pictures over the cliff and then through Estoril with large surf spot and on to Cascais. There’s also not a ton to do in cascais so you could skip over it. Overall it was a great private tour and I would recommend it anyone. Save yourself the trouble of navigating this on your own.

Great day with Andre! Super energy, very knowledgeable and thorough with explaining everything and quite the history lesson. Lunch in an off the path non-tourist spot attended by locals was perfect food, great value, and the best lunch we have had in Lisbon. I wish that I had remembered to pick his brain to get a short list of other spots like this. This day was a highlight of our first trip to Portugal!
