You will start the tour in the Gothic Quarter, which is the oldest part of the city, dating back to 2000 years. The distric has many streets, so small, that most of them are closed to traffic. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona first started, you will experience a harmonious mix of modernity with Roman and medieval imprints. You will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque squares and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.

L'Eixample District

(Pass by)

After checking out the neighborhood’s most important highlights, we will set our focus on Modernism, crossing the Eixample district and marveling at its iconic Modernist architecture. L'Eixample was designed by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 to expand the city as objective. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Crossing the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will remark that Cerdà’s concept of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian. This was Barcelona´s 19th-century answer to the overcrowded medieval city and Gaudi´s favorite neighborhood to work in. In Eixample, you will pass by some of his most spectacular works, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.

Passeig de Gracia

The Passeig de Gracia is home to the most remarkable façades of modernist buildings, including Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller. Get amazed by these beautiful houses, that will color in your day, whie listening to your guide's anecdotes.

Basilica de la Sagrada Familia

For centuries now, this part of Barcelona has been home to many nightclubs, cabarets and taverns. Raval is known as the place where sailors would often go to have fun after reaching the local port. Today, the neigborhood, is a youthful and sparkling place full of life and movement. Home to skaters and youngsters, boutiques, bars and restaurants.

Playa de La Barceloneta

This bike tour will end at the Barceloneta beach, where the historical district meets the Mediterranean Sea. This was once a fisherman’s neighborhood and still preserves that small-town essence today. Here, you will find lovely chiringuitos (beach bars), authentic Spanish seafood restaurants and colorful buildings with a great local feel. you will have the chance to marvel at amazing views over the Mediterranean. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh breeze as you pedal along the beautiful seafront promenade.

Our tour with Andrei was, in a word, fun! As a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, he navigated us effortlessly through the bustling Barcelona streets, bringing the city’s history to life in a way that no textbook ever could. One of the highlights was his intimate knowledge of Antoni Gaudí. Andrei illuminated us with many intriguing details about Gaudi's personal life, including little-known anecdotes about his relationship with the bourgeoisie and his unique vision of the city. These details were not something you would typically find in official guidebooks or on the internet. Equally fascinating was the ease and comfort of our ride. The e-bikes provided for the tour were top-notch, ensuring a smooth journey through the city's diverse neighborhoods. Covering Barcelona's enchanting districts for four hours was an effortless pleasure with these bikes, making us feel invigorated rather than fatigued. Andrei also provided a vivid explanation of the contemporary political landscape in Spain, focusing on the nuanced relationship between Catalonia and the rest of Spain. His insightful commentary on the Spanish people and their ethos was enlightening, giving us a deeper understanding of the local culture. Additionally, his food recommendations were spot on. The spots he pointed out during our tour ended up being gastronomic treasures, with authentic Catalan dishes that were absolutely delightful. The only slight disappointment was missing out on a ride around Barceloneta, which would have added an extra layer of magic to the tour. However, considering all the fascinating insights and experiences Andrei offered, this was only a minor footnote to an otherwise memorable trip. Andrei's e-bike tour was not just a journey through Barcelona’s narrow streets and extensive cycle paths, but an in-depth exploration of the city’s heart and soul. It was an experience that went beyond the standard tourist fare, and one that I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique perspective on this vibrant city, especially if you’re on your first visit there!

Andrei took us on our bike tour and he was amazing!!! He was able to give us a great tour, tell us some history about Barcelona, and keep a pace that we could all stay together, without going too fast or too slow. We had time to ask questions and really got a great feel for the city and its layout. I usually do a double decker bus tour, but this was even better!!! My entire family enjoyed it (ages 62, 59, 21, 20).

The cycle tour was probably the highlight of my weekend in Barcelona! I’ve never done one before and will definitely look them up in other cities now . We covered a lot of ground and Andrei was very knowledgeable on the history of the town and even had a folder of visual material . The city has fantastic cycle lanes and dedicated traffic lights so it felt very safe. I would recommend and so would my two friends.
