Piazza del Popolo

Piazza del Popolo is a very well-known square in Rome. In Italian the name means ‘People's Square’, but the name is actually derived from the poplars that surrounded the oval square. The original function of the neo-classical square, which was designed between 1811 and 1822, was welcoming visitors and pilgrims who entered Rome from the north over the Via Flaminia. A must see in Rome

Via del Corso

Via del Corso is a well-known historical street in the center of Rome that connects Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo and measures approximately 1.6 kilometers. It is the central artery of the road complex known as the Trident.

Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps (Italian: Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti) in Rome, Italy, climb a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church, at the top. The monumental stairway of 135 steps was built with French diplomat Étienne Gueffier's bequeathed funds of 20,000 scudi, in 1723–1725,[citation needed] linking the Trinità dei Monti church under the patronage of the Bourbon kings of France, at the top of the steps, and the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See in the Palazzo Monaldeschi at the bottom of the steps. The stairway was designed by architects Francesco de Sanctis and Alessandro Specchi.

Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain (Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is an 18th-century fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi...

Fontana del Pantheon

The Pantheon, Pantheum in classical Latin, is a building of ancient Rome located in the Pigna district in the historic center, built as a temple dedicated to all past, present and future divinities. It was founded in 27 BC. from the harpinate Marco Vipsanio Agrippa, son-in-law of Augustus.

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous monumental squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family at the behest of Pope Innocent X ...

Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi

The fountain was commissioned by Pope Innocent X to decorate Piazza Navona, on which the works for the construction of Palazzo Pamphilj were being carried out. In 1647 the pontiff had commissioned Francesco Borromini to design a pipeline that would bring the water from the Aqua Virgo to Piazza Navona and had announced a competition for the design of the fountain in the square. In addition, the pope expressed his desire to recover the obelisk, later called Agonale, which lay in ruins in the circus of Maxentius on the Appia Antica.

Piazza della Minerva

The name of the square derives from the original existence in this place of a temple built by Gneo Pompeo Magno and dedicated to Minerva Chalkidiki, whose cult statue is now in the Vatican. The basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, center of gravity of the entire square, was already mentioned in the 8th century by the Anonymous of Einsiedeln with the name of (ecclesia) "S. Mariae in Minervio".

Gaia was an incredible guide. She really gave us a great overview of the city center and kept two teenagers engaged.

Our tour guide Fabio met us at the hotel, and we took a taxi to our first attraction. We saw about 9 different piazzas or squares around the city. Every piazza has a church/basilica within the square. Each piazza and basilica was more beautiful than the last. Fabio was knowledgeable and friendly, and thoroughly enjoyed his job.

This was my second tour with Max, and it's great to see Rome through the eyes of someone who loves this city! He's knowledgeable, fun and the time just flies by when you are with him in this wonderful place. I plan to do more....

I live in Rome, and a few weeks ago some relatives came to visit me and my family from the UK, they had booked a tour with Italyrometours with Max, since their eldest son wasn't feeling very well they asked meto join in, I must admit that I was a bit skeptical at first regarding private tour guides in rome but it was led me to a genuinely new experience though I've been living in this country for all my life, I visited Rome in a totally new perspective, the tour itself it was long walk so be sure to wear the right shoes among the squares of Rome. Max is a very nice and competent Tour guide and I fully recommend him.

We had a full day walking tour with Max and it was great! He focused the tour on what we thought was the most interesting…. the why and how rather than when. Rome is one big museum which came alive with Max.

Max was not only a fantastic tour guide, but he also helped plan my engagement at a gorgeous property outside of Rome. Our tour was magical - with express access to top-tourist spots like the Vatican and Colosseum. Max comes on time in a beautiful Mercedes SUV and walks you through the history of Rome. He is very knowledgeable about the city of Rome and Italy as a country. I will never forget when my fiance Pete proposed to me - all with the help of Max. Max took beautiful pictures of us from afar to capture the special moment. I highly recommend Max for your tours! Especially if you're planning something special ;)

We took a guided tour, may I say Perillo Tours. Our time was a beautiful experience. Perillo planned everything so perfect. From the plane reservations to the guided tours to the hotels to the food, oh the food. We had a guide, Paulo who has been with them for 30 plus years. He is the reason you should take the tour. We will take another Italy tour next year and yes Perillo once again.

Max Parini , Italy Rome Tours, turned our dreams of Italy into splendid reality. Italy Rome Tours exceeded our expectations in every way. Please do not trust your vacation to anyone else. Max and his team of professionals were always punctual, courteous, and catered to our every need. Max made sure that we had door-to door service in comfortable Mercedes mini-vans. The English speaking guides were extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. The highlight of our trip, in late September, was a beautiful day spent in the San Gimignano region of Tuscan Wine Country. We had the best time getting to know the Torciano family, who have been making fine wines in the region for the past 300 years, while enjoying samples of great food and of course the wine...oh my... the best wines. We highly recommend this tour and Max Parini, Italy Rome Tours.
