Your Itinerary

Basilica San Nicola

Basilica of Saint Nicholas is an important pilgrimage destination both for Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians and one of the most important attraction

Cattedrale di San Sabino

The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, dedicated to Saint Sabinus, a bishop of Canosa, whose relics were brought here in the 9th century. Here you will appreciate underground roman walls named Succorpo.

Castello Normanno Svevo

The Norman Swebian Castle hosts the collection of plaster casts and temporary art exhibitions

Piazza del Ferrarese

Piazza Ferrarese has always been one of the access points to the old town which, with its narrow streets, alleys and small openings, extends from Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile up to the Normanno-Svevo castle. During recent restoration, which involved not only the square but also the surrounding buildings, a short stretch of the ancient Via Appia – Traiana came to light, built by the Romans in the early second century A.D.

Piazza Mercantile

The piazza has always represented the heart of commercial and administrative activities in the city due to the presence of the city market (not currently in this area) and of the palazzo Sedile, which is the historical reference point of Bari city Hall. Today, for the citizens of Bari it is an irreplaceable meeting point.

Awesome tour! In addition to the informational tour we got some gelato, made music with the group and a local musician and prepared and tasted pasta! Our guide Vincenzo was the best!

Very nice tour and experience. Everything well organized and explained. Thanks a lot for everything, I would recommend to anyone interested in “tasting” a bit the city.

Chiara was an awesome guide! We had so much fun touring the old city, learning about Bari’s history, making and eating delicious orecchiette and much more! We enjoyed the small group (6 people total) and she was even able to point us to some local places for food & drink. Highly recommend for anyone trying to see the major attractions in the old city.

3h with the very friendly Giada cycling across the old city and discovering the art of making orecchiette in the kitchen of one of the lady makers. It was a super nice way to discover the beautiful city of Bari, all well organized and professional. Giada gave us tons of explanations and we ended with a degustation of the (yummy) pasta and an ice cream. Great activity and easily accessible to all (no need to be super into sports)

Riding through the historical city was beautiful. Our guide, the very lovely Carlotta was informative and fun. The pasta making was a hoot and our Nona was a joy to be around. I definitely recommend this tour.

Giulia did a wonderful job touring us around Bari!! It was fun to bike through the narrow streets and she gave us plenty of time to explore the churches and little nooks of the city! We loved making pasta with Carmela, enjoyed the tasting and wine, and even got to have gelato!! It was a really fun and memorable tour of Bari!!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and her English was excellent! Only slight downside of a cycle tour is you have to concentrate on not bumping into all the people and therefore miss out on seeing some of the beautiful streets and buildings! You even get a yummy ice cream! The pasta experience was fun! The ladies are so skilful! Do remember to wash your hands before you make the pasta! As an added bonus they let us keep the bikes for the rest of the day for just €20 returnable deposit and provided a lock, so we were able to cycle to the beach!!

Although the cycling could at times be a little hectic due to cars/trucks/motorcycles/bicycles/people and narrow little lane ways, it was a great way to see all the highlights of the Old Town of Bari. Theresa was very knowledgeable and fun. There were also a few lovely surprises on the way! We opted to learn to make orchieta pasta with Portia and it was a really fun experience as well. The bonus was that we could continue to rent the bicycles for the rest of the day with no extra charge-just a refundable deposit! Highly recommend!

I would recommend doing a walking tour vice bike tour in Bari. The tight streets, close proximity of the sites, and congestion make a bike tour unnecessary. Our guide was ok - nothing special.

Nice walk in the old town of Bari. The tour was converted to walk instead of bike because af rain. Fun making pasta but because of the weather a bit cold to make also eating icecreme outside.
