Your Itinerary

Verona

Verona is a city alive with myths, a place of the spirit in pursuit of the true meaning of magic. It is impossible not to experience the emotion produced by the sight of the famous balcony of Romeo and Juliet. Furthermore, the unmissable Arena, imposing symbol of her Roman pedigree for almost 2000 years, and today home to world-famous opera performances.

Ponte Scaligero

The Castelvecchio bridge, also known as the Scaliger bridge, is a Verona bridge over the Adige river which is part of the Castelvecchio fortress, considered the most audacious and admirable work of the Verona Middle Ages.

Ponte Pietra

The Pietra bridge is the oldest bridge in Verona on the Adige river, the only one left from Roman times. Having survived several floods, it was made to shine during the Second World War by retreating German soldiers, then rebuilt by reconstructing the stones recovered from the river bed by anastylosis

Porta Borsari - World Heritage Site

Porta Borsari, known as Porta Iovia for the presence of the nearby temple dedicated to Jupiter Lustrale, is one of the doors that opened along the Roman walls of Verona

Arena di Verona

It is one of the largest amphitheatres in Italy and the most famous monument in Verona. In this building, built by the Romans around the middle of the 1st century AD, different types of shows took place: fights between gladiators and hunts for ferocious and exotic animals. The elliptical shape is designed to accommodate a large number of spectators (around 30,000) and to give the games enough space. It was built outside the walls of the Roman city to encourage the influx of spectators and avoid crowding in the city center.

Casa di Giulietta

One of the unmissable stops is undoubtedly Juliet's house, the main character of William Shakespeare' tragedy. The Capulet houses were not located here, but near the bank of the Adige river. In the early twentieth century important works were done to avoid the flooding of the river and some medieval houses had to be demolished. From the ruins of these buildings a small gothic balcony was rescued and positioned in the courtyard of the tower house of the Cappello family in Verona: thus Juliet's balcony was born.

Arco dei Gavi

The Arco dei Gavi, located along the ancient Via Postumia in Verona, just outside the walls of the Roman city, is a very rare case of honorary and monumental arch for private use in Roman architecture.
