Barcelona Cathedral

Begin this fantastic walking tour at the Barcelona Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St. Eulalia. The cathedral is a wonderful example of Gothic architecture at its finest. The Gothic Quarter is a must see when visiting Barcelona, situated in Barcelona's Ciutat Vella (Old Town). A walk through this neighborhood is a walk through European history. You will also visit the cloisters where within the courtyard live 13 white geese, known as the Well of Geese, symbolizing the years of St Eulalia’s life before she was tragically taken away by the Romans. Your entrance tickets also includes a visit to the top of the Cathedral for stunning views and photo ops!

Admission Included

Church of San Felipe Neri

(Pass by)

Continue your exploration of Barcelona's Old Town strolling through Plaza Sant Felipe Neri, home to the Church of Sant Felipe Neri, a hidden gem not many travellers get to experience. Learn how the church survived the Spanish Civil War, and how it was restored to its former self.

Placa de Sant Jaume

(Pass by)

Your guide will then walk you to the wonderful gem that is Place de Sant Jaume, once in the heart of the Roman city of Barcino, later known as Barcelona. Now the administrative district of both Barcelona and the region of Catalonia, the square is the home of the Barcelona City Hall as well as the Generalitat de Catalunya.

MUHBA Temple d'August

(Pass by)

Continue your stroll and walk by the impressive Temple of Augustus, dedicated to the homonymous Ancient Roman Emperor. Its columns, considered the pinnacle of Roman Architecture, reach a height of 30 feet and are as old as the city itself.

Placa del Rei

(Pass by)

Continue onto Plaza del Dei, the very square Christopher Columbus met King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella after his first journey to the New World. Today the square is a cozy and picturesque gathering place with cafés, cocktail bars and restaurants.

My son and I enjoyed our tour of Cathedral and Gothic Quarter. The pace and route were perfect and learning about the history made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend it. I wish I brough my daughter as well, she did a similar tour with her college group (she was studying in Spain) a day before but with a different agency and did not enjoy it. They did not go into Cathedral (for us was the highlight of the tour) and did not get any history context.

We did a tour with Edu and he was very knowledgeable and personable. We learned a lot and felt that he gave great insight and additional suggestions for our time in Barcelona

Alfredo was absolutely top-notch. He knew the answer to every possible question and many that we hadn’t even thought to ask. We very much appreciated the depth of his knowledge of history and the local area and people. We learned so much. I had been skeptical of using a guide, but would have been worth five times the price. Thank you! We will be back.

Alfredo did a great job; the pace and route of our tour through the Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter was perfect for us. Then he took us down La Rambla to La Boqueria, where we had lunch. Alfredo pointed out things behind hidden passageways that we would never have found on our own, like the 4 original Roman columns. So many great photos! Two thumbs way up; highly recommended.

Our group of six did two private morning tours over two days in Barcelona. Both tours were a learning experience and done well. Also LivTours arranged transportation from our hotel directly to the tour location where our guide was already waiting for us.

Our Tour guide, Monserrat, was fantastic. Her command of English was very strong. Her knowledge was deep and she explained the area and history with clarity and interesting facts. She asked also if there was anything in particular that was of interest to us and she included them in our walk together. At the end of our tour, she walked with us suggesting a few restaurants and places to enjoy drinks and dinner. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Monserrat.
