Fernando was amazing! He was very communicative about our itinerary. He arrived promptly on the day of the tour. We learned so much about Sintra as he was driving. At each stop he was careful to tell us where to meet him after our tour was done and he communicated with us on Whatsapp to help us when we got lost. He suggested an amazing lunch spot in the heart of downtown Sintra. When we told him we had dinner reservations in Lisbon that evening he was able to adjust the tour to our needs. When he found out about the rest of our travel itinerary in Portugal he typed up a list of helpful tips and suggestions for each spot, which was so kind! More than anything, Fernando was simply a joy to have as our guide. We came away feeling like we’d made a friend in Portugal!

Long review short; book this trip with Fernando now and you will not be disappointed! Lisbon was the last stop on our Portugal trip and I’m so happy we saved the best for last! I booked the Sintra tour with Fernando and he was absolutely amazing. Before arriving to Portugal he contacted me via WhatsApp and text message to explain the tour and gave me details about the day. He picked us up in the morning and drove us to Sintra, the first stop was the Pena Palace. Fernando gave us information and history about the palace as well as tips and hints for the tour. We arrived early and there was no line (I pre-purchased the tickets), we followed Fernando’s advice and toured inside the palace first and the exterior second. Fernando did not pressure us or give us a time frame, he let us tour at our leisure and when we were finished he was waiting for us at the exit. He drove us to the second palace and after we were able to get lunch at the spot of our choice (Fernando of course had recommendations for us as well) . Finally we made it to the third palace, when we were finished with the third palace Fernando was waiting for us with a traditional Portuguese pastry from Sintra, (this pastry is a must do not miss it)! We finished the tour around 5 o’clock and Fernando offered to drive us to a famous Light House which was not part of the trip, but this is the type of guy he is! Once there, we got out and he explained the history and details of that particular place. After we drove through Casicas on our way home to Lisbon, again not apart of the tour, but Fernando goes above and beyond! Fernando surprised us once more with a stop at the oldest bakery in Portugal. We had a coffee and another, but different Portuguese pastry, we chatted about life like we were old friends. Fernando loves his job and you can see this passion for his city when he gives his tours. He says that by the end of the tour he has new friends and I really do believe him. With Fernando we were treated with respect and comfort and he made our trip so memorable! Please do not hesitate or question this tour, it is a must, especially with Fernando!
