Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias
The visit to the City of Arts and Sciences! Those spectacular images that you had seen on the internet and social networks, now you will see them in reality. Yes, the City of Arts and Sciences is amazing, neither more nor less than that. This large architectural complex, designed for entertainment, is one of the most visited attractions in Valencia, a must when you come to the capital of Turia! To describe this fascinating place, we would have to start by saying that it is many things at once! It has several monumental buildings, all of which have become icons of the city, and occupies around two kilometers of the old Turia riverbed. Designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, it is a scientific, cultural and natural leisure complex to enjoy with family or friends. You will know the magic of its exterior Duration: 3 hours
La Lonja de la Seda
La Lonja is one of the characteristic buildings of the city, as well as being one of the most famous civil Gothic monuments that Europe can offer. It enjoys the high distinction of a national Historic-Artistic Monument since June 4, 1931 and was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on December 5, 1996. The Lonja de Mercaderes is located in the center of the city - in front of the Central Market and the Temple of Santos Juanes - and occupies a rectangular surface whose area is about 1990 square meters. At the end of the 13th century, the old Lonja was insufficient due to the prosperity of the city, so in 1469 it was decided to start the construction of a new Lonja. The first stone was laid in 1492, although the works began a year later. The main figure who intervened in the construction was Pere Compte, a citizen of Valencia, engineer and architect at the same time.
