Fontana del Nettuno

The tour starts with fresh pasta like Ragù alla Bolognese Tagliatelle topped with local Parmesan Cheese. One, if not, the, quintessential first dish in Bologna. More versatile than the famous Lasagna, this dish will welcome you into Bologna while still leaving some space in your stomach for the following stops. In alternative you may be served Tortellini, served in broth, as the tradition commands, which is equally as typical.
Via dell'Indipendenza
(Pass by)
To then try out either locally made and fresh tigelle - hands down the most requested and loved food in Emilia-Romagna region and in Bologna it is topped with delicious local ingredients. Or try out the true Bolognese Mortadella in a cone or on a platter! The quintessential Bologna salami.
Palazzo Sanuti - Bevilacqua degli Ariosti
(Pass by)
As a second dish, you'll experience Cotoletta alla Bolognese. A veal meat served with a rich sauce made with cream and parmesan cheese and topped with smoked ham. The traditional recipe requires that the meat is fried, then served in meat broth. Finally, it is briefly baked in the oven and served covered in melted cheese and ham.
Palazzo Ruini
(Pass by)
For dessert we'll try the best artisanal Italian ice cream in Bologna with delicious flavours or alternatively Torta degli Addobbi: a rice cake with very ancient origins; it was prepared in Bologna, already around 1400, on the occasion of Corpus Domini, the end of May; a time when balconies and windows were festively decorated with coloured drapes and this cake cut into diamond shapes was offered to relatives and friends!

Amazing food tour - our guide, Miriam, was lovely and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. We ate some things we wouldn't have chosen had we not gone on the tour.

We absolutely LOVED this tour. Valentina was a wonderful guide who not only told us about the significance of the food we were eating, but also shared lots of facts of the city itself. All of the food was delicious and well timed. We loved the experience so much that we booked another similar experience in Florence. My only wish is that Valentina could be our guide there as well. She not only answered all of our questions regarding the tour but also was available to us to give us recommendations and insight into Bologna culture. She is a gem.

Myriam & trainee Ilaria were so friendly, knowledgeable & interesting as they described the history of Bologna & the food we were eating.
We had 5 stops. A pasta, a panini, a cutlet, a gelato & finished off with a coffee.
Both girls were engaging and even helped us with our beginners travel “Italian”. We finished with satisfied bellies & memories of Italian hospitality, yummy food & laughs. Oh don’t ask for a cappuccino at the end of the tour hahaha.

We really enjoyed our tour with Marta. She was very personable and provided us with many interesting facts about Bologna. I would recommend that you start your tour with an empty stomach! We started with amazing pasta, then mortadella, and then a veal chop. Ended with gelato. It was all delicious!
