We will meet at the remains of the Roman Wall right beside the Tower Hill Tube Station and get a look at Tower Hill the site where traitors were executed. We then proceed to the Middle Tower and cross the moat into the medieval castle. We examine the walls and ramparts and marvel at the might of the Tower. We pass through further gates finally entering the inner yard of Tower Green and gaze upon the iconic White Tower. Hear the stories of traitors throughout the last 1,000 years and where they met their end. The Castle was built over centuries - your guide Dr Geoff (Oxford) is an architectural historian and will show you why and how the building changed over time. As this is and has always been a Royal Palace it is guarded by Britain's military. They will stand guard as you enter the vault to see the glorious Crown Jewels - See the crown worn by the new monarch King Charles III. We enter the White Tower and take a rampart walk around the whole castle. Kids are very welcome!
