The description was exactly what we were looking for - exploring outside the city while on a short visit to Rome. We were not fully prepared for the weather but Cris ensured we had an incredible experience even so. The fog rolled in as we climbed the mountain so we had zero visibility. But it's amazing how much fun you can have snowshoeing in pea soup! We kept the hike short and then headed to a private lunch at a hotel/restaurant that overlooks the Rieti Valley. If we had more time I would have gone back the next day to see the views from the mountain. But even with the bad weather it was a wonderful day. I highly recommend this tour!

We were looking for an outdoor adventure during our short time in Italy and this trip exceeded our expectations. We had bad weather roll in on the mountain as we arrived for our hike but our tour guide, Cris, was determined to give us as much time on the mountain as possible. If we had been better prepared (gloves would have been a good idea and additional cold weather gear was needed all around) we could have lasted longer. But the rest of the day made up for our shorter than expected hike. I loved the personalized tour, local coffee stop in Rieti, excellent lunch at a beautiful restaurant on a hilltop and so much more. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the area!

We (me 24 and my brother 20) had a very good time in the mountain trek. the guide was very nice. Snowshoeing was a good experience and the view was beautiful.

Truly a magical experience. Cris was a friend straight away. He's friendly, interesting, and made sure to go above and beyond for the experience. What a wonderful adventure. Every part with extraordinary. He even stayed with me during the hike to make sure I wasn't left behind. The trek was challenging, but more than worth it. He took pictures of us and took us to a wonderful restaurant with amazing food. He's passionate about what he does and it is contagious. From coffee for breakfast, to a refreshing dip in the lake, today couldn't have gone better. Thank you Cris for making this so special.

What can I say? I booked an Experience but I got so much more after everything. This review starts and ends with Cris, our host. His knowledge of the experience is in-depth, his passion brimming and personality, most affable. The day is jam packed starting with a trip to his friend's third wave coffee shop in central Rieti. The hike came second. He was very considerate to give me options , the harder or easier route. I was rusty so I chose easy mode. If you come during winter, he'll take care of snow shoes too. He had a go pro with him so he would also take shots of the actual hike. That was very very thoughtful of him so I hardly took any videos and photos and just concentrated on the ascent. Every step was documented. As you know, in this day and age - no photos means it didn't happen. After the trek, it was lunch time and lunch was at an excellent restaurant near a wine and olive oil castelo. Last stop was a short tour of an old castelo and village called Labro. Mind you, in between locations, it was his car we were using. Very very nice. Super thankful I took this experience. And happy to say I made a friend. I mean it was just me and him - but he had the energy for a whole group and it showed and I'm thankful. All Airbnb Experiences should be like this, thoughtful, adventurous and fun.

I often travel alone and love to hike in Southern California and this was an amazing experience! I am so glad I booked it and stayed overnight the day before at a Villa Cris helped book in Reiti! Cris is very knowledgeable guide and experienced with the terrain, very fun and I always felt safe trekking this mountain! Cris helped me with the train schedule and was very patient as well! This mountain had endless breathless views and I was just amazed by all the green I saw and the surrounding mountains. Do not underestimate the distance and steepness of this mountain, great workout 💪🏽 Staying at the Villa made this experience more amazing, I would have not asked for a better guide because the Villa had more views of the mountains, a swimming pool and Cris took me to Reiti where it was nice to enjoy a walk around the town. The Villa is owned by Alan and Marinella and they were so warm, welcoming and genuine. I decided to order food from their restaurant during my time there and it felt like home. The dishes felt like home cooked authentic meals away from all the tourist attraction in Rome. Definitely recommend this adventure and staying overnight before heading back to Rome to really enjoy the mountain side views of Italy 🇮🇹

The experience is exceptional in every way. Cris has distilled the best outdoor experiences and tailors them to each group. We added on lunch and wine tasting in a hilltop village. I had the best lamb chop I have ever eaten, loved the wine, and even got to see cute farm animals. The mountain and valley landscapes our group hiked and drove through were like something out of a fairytale. He saved a medieval town for last; it is pretty enough it made me want to take up painting. Chris was looking after the safety, logistics, fun, and the surprise factor the whole time. I really enjoyed having a chance to talk to him. If you want to stay the night at the medieval village (the price is a steal) then the next day he will pick you up for another adventure. He has a lot of things to chose from that all sound like a blast. Best holiday ever. I am glad I saw the surrounding area of Rome, it not to be missed.

This was a great day exploring the countryside including hiking, lunch, exploring a castle and surround areas in town. Chris was a great guide. He was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable about the area. The car ride out was fabulous and Chris was able to point out all the sites along the way and throughout the day. The weather was much colder than expected and Chris was able to provide me with a coat, hat and gloves which were a life saver. The views on the hike were spectacular and the castle was so impressive. I would definitely recommend this experience
