What to expect
Placa De L'ajuntament
Your guided tour departs from Plaza del Ayuntamiento. It's one of the most important and central squares of the city. It is surrounded by emblematic buildings from the early 20th century and the most traditional festivals are celebrated there.
Plaza de la Virgen
Then you will arrive to Plaza de la Virgen (Virgin's square). There you will see the Virgen de los Desamparados’s Church and the rear facade of the Cathedral, and its famous Door of the Apostles, where the Water Tribunal meets every Thursday. This is a Justice institution that resolves conflicts arising from the use of irrigation water among farmers.
La Lonja de la Seda
You will stroll towards the Silk Exchange (Lonja de la Seda), declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the past, was the trade center of the city. You will also see the exterior of the Central Market, that is located opposite to Lonja building.
Placa de la Reina
The tour continues to Plaza de la Reina. It is one of the most bustling and lively squares in the city. It is surrounded by numerous bars and old buildings, including the main facade of the Valencia Cathedral with its characteristic bell tower, called the Miguelete.
Barrio del Carmen
After that, you will go walking through the narrow streets of the El Carmen neighborhood, it is the old town of Valencia. On the way you will see significant places and buildings such as the Palacio de la Generalitat or Plaza del Tossal, among others.
Torres de Quart
Lunch takes place in a special restaurant located in front of the Quart Towers. You will enjoy your meal admiring the renowned Quart Towers, one of the ancient walled city gates, that still survives in perfect condition. The menu includes starters made with selected fresh products. As main course you’ll be able to choose between paella, fish, meat or duck. Then, a delicious dessert and a beverage by person.
