Your Itinerary

Scuola Grande di San Marco

We boost energies to face our discovery walk around Venice in a traditional pastry shop serving sweet treats to Venetians since 1879 in a dramatically beatiful neighbourhood close to San Giovanni & Paolo church

Piazza San Marco

We will indulge by stopping at the bar counter of an historical cafè in Saint Mark's square. For instance at the one preferred by the opera composer Richard Wagner, surrounded by baroque mirrors and politically incorrect antique moor's head chandeliers Do you want to add some energy to your espresso? We will ask it a "corretto" ! (coffee corrected with "grappa" liquor)

Fondamenta Zattere

We will cross the Canal Grande with a short gondola ride and we will reach the Zattere in the arty Dorsoduro district. We will enjoy delicious scoops of ice cream in a "gelateria"-shop which was a favourite of Peggy Guggenheim and, more recently, of Angelina Jolie

Campo San Barnaba

Feel like true Venetian eating the typical biscuit from the island of Burano. We will taste the original recipe in a local family bakery active since 1956

Campo Santa Margherita

Moving towards the Santa Croce district, we cannot miss a bakery where every Venetian has been at least once in his life. In this famous place the offer is so wide it will mesmerize you! Probably a cup of Tiramisù, the most famous Italian dessert could be a good choice!

San Polo

Zabaione is the most tyical pastry filling in Venice, lightly alcoholic due to the Marsala liquor and extremely tasty. We will try it in a pastry shop, which has been a corner bakery since 1742, whose reputatio of krapfen (cream puffs) strudel and venetian donuts has survived many "acqua alta" (high tides)

Ghetto Ebraico

Entering the Cannaregio district and the oldest Jewish ghetto in the world, we cannot miss to taste some pastry in a traditional kosher bakery. Bite after bite you will discover and understand more about the multi-cultural richness of the city and of its historical communities

Valerio was amazing!! Showed us a side of Venice we wouldn’t have seen otherwise and it was amazing to try some hidden gem sweets only the Venetians know about! Off the beaten path was just what we needed to see in Venice!

This was a fun tour because we learned about historical shops and got to try local pastries which were delicious! Valerio is an amazing guide and he will treat you like a friend and help you with any questions you have about Venice. He even texted me what stop to get off on the water taxi after I got lost! I’ve never encountered a guide as nice as Valerio. The gondola ride across the canal was an incredible experience!!! I highly recommend this tour!

My family had a great time joining this tour. Our guide was funny and personable. We got to taste various pastries and beverages/ coffee/ ice cream. I like that it’s a small group allowing more interactions with the local guide. Keep in mind that these pastry shops are small, so no place to sit. The tour was a bit overpriced. Nevertheless, we had fun!

The Sweet Venice tour with Valerio was WONDERFUL. A real “must do” in Venice, especially if you’re traveling with older kids/teens (ours were 10 and 13). It’s a 2 hour walking tour and Valerio will zip you through beautiful, lesser-travelled (read: less crowded!) areas of Venice, stopping along the way so you can sample pastries, chocolate, and gelato. Valerio was engaging, knowledgeable, and our 10yo called him “our best tour guide ever.” My family truly can not recommend this tour enough!

This was such a fun tour with the whole family. Valario is super knowledgeable and helpful. It was just the 3 of us in the tour and Valario customized the tour based on us. Not only did we go to sweet shops, he took us all over and explained the history of so much of Venice.

Theresa_B

Valerio was excellent. He led through the less traveled routes of Venice to the the most amazing shops. The chocolate store and oldest bakery in Venice were our favorite. Highly recommend Valerio.

Bobbi_J

There were only two stops and we had to pay extra for the pastries at the last stop. There was not a lot of explanation of the pastries and why they were significant to Venice. Very disappointed.

Sarahad524

Valerio was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout this tour! We felt very comfortable and really enjoyed our time. He also sent us links to other great places to eat at. Would love to meet again!

This was such a fun tour. We got more information than just pastries. It was a lot of fun and we got to learn a lot.
