Very well run organization. Communication leading up to the excursion was excellent. Started with very good lunch followed by a charcuterie box and glass of champagne on board. 2 hour ride through the Verde River canyon and back for an additional 2 hours. Beautiful scenery, excellent train car host and narrator.!

Excellent train ride with great hosts! Two of us are disabled and staff made sure that we got on/off the train safely. Very informative and beautiful experience riding the Via Verde Railway in Clarkdale, AZ.

My brother was visiting me from PA and wanted to go. Couple things-we sat next to a couple outside that said they were told to be there at 11am for a 1pm train- they were a tad annoyed. We got there a bit after 12 noon to get our pre-ordered food (they were out of the gluten free pasta salad though) . Our Scottsdale car was clean and lovely and we were surprised to find at our table a wonderful charcuterie for each of us with a small bottle of bubbly (and water bottles for each) for a toast upon leaving the station. Honestly had we known this much food was included we would not have purchased the burger and chicken online. We never touched that food and ended up taking it home afterwards. The bartender was nice. Larry, our guide, was sweet and informative. However, our suggestion is to give him a PA system when he is talking on the outdoor car. Even if the music was turned down it was impossible to hear his talk in the outdoor car. You could only hear him if you were sitting directly in front of him. Inside the car the narration audio was also difficult to hear over the din of other passengers. A speaker on each table or headsets to hear the audio could be valuable to the educational aspect of the experience. We got some fun photos and enjoyed meeting others on the train. Staff is organized and timely for getting that many people on and off the train! Wish we had seen more wildlife but someone did see a fleeting golden eagle!

We enjoyed it very much with one exception; it was almost impossible to hear the history that was being played on a loud speaker in the open carriage. Perhaps headphones would alleviate this issue?

The train wound through some beautiful scenery. It was relaxing but a little long. I saw some ducks, geese and a deer along the way.

The attendants were cheerful and had lots of good information! Loved our complimentary appetizers, lunch good! We sat in the couches and would have liked a cushion so I could sit up! That’s all I would have changed. Fun experience! Thank you! 😊

The views were wonderful. Pete, waiter, was just fantastic! The trip along the water was beautiful. The hills & mountains was breathtaking!

Susan_M

We spent the first part of the trip talking to our seat mates and enjoying the scenery. But then we went outside!! The day was perfect, the scenery was breathtaking and Rob went above and beyond taking care of us! We would do it again and again…
