As we had more than 10 people in a group, we were able to arrange for a Private tour with the company. The 2pm scheduled pickup was on time and the company provided us with an English speaking guide. On the day and time of our visit to the Palace, there was a bomb threat that resulted in the Palace being temporarily closed. We arrived at the Palace at around 2:45pm and was informed that the Palace would reopen at 3:30pm. As expected, there was a long queue to enter the Palace but the bomb threat worked to our advantage in that the queue was much shorter and moved quite quickly. We were able to enter the Palace at 4:05pm. As a tour company, I would not hesitate to re-engage them to arrange private tours. Unless you have a day to spend at the Palace, it is not worth the short visit. There is much to see and experience at the Palace to appreciate the rich French culture and history. However, be prepared for a long queue to get into the Palace because of security. We learned an average of 27,000 people daily visit the Palace.

Tour booked for 8 am. Driver didn’t arrive till almost 9. Was told we couldn’t get in till 11:15 and could go to Gardens. Late arrival meant crowds so bad you couldn’t get close to seeing anything in the palace.

We originally booked for a Tuesday but it was cancelled due to labour strike. They rebooked for Saturday. We were under the impression that it would leave at 8 as per original reservation. Was told to go early in day. If we knew we couldn’t get into palace till 11:30 we would have cancelled. Was only able to spend about 1-1/4 hours inside. It was so crowded and could hardly move. It took away from the experience. Rushed/crowded. If I was to go again I would book train instead.

Our guide was Loic. We enjoyed our drive over to Versailles as well as the tour once we arrived. We do wish we had had more time for the tour.

Very small and uncomfortable bus, limited time for half day tour. When they state that the tour is 8am to 1pm remember to take about 1,5 to two hours for a trip to and from Versailles. Would not recommend

Upon check-in of tour for combined half day Versailles and Giverny tour, was told extra €59 euros needs to be paid. This was because of a booking error made by staff, where they booked two separate half day tours, instead of the combined tour. Lost a lot of time because of this, with the need to return to the agency to board the next bus. Departure in the morning was delayed because of booking problems for other people too, one couple had their tour booked for the previous day, which was a mistake by staff. Another group had an adult left out completely. Not great admin, clearly. Tour guide was friendly enough, speaking French, English and Spanish. And it is good to get Group ticket entry to Versailles as the queues are very, very long. Took 1.5hrs to travel to Giverny and we only spent 1.5hrs there. Overall, poorly organised and not worth the price.

Went on the morning 1/2 day tour. Traffic and problems with security at the palace meant that we lost about 45-50 minutes of the time we had to explore which meant 1hr 45 mins in total for Palace and garden. We rushed through the Palace which was very overcrowded and only managed to explore 1/6 of the garden before we had to go to meeting point a considerable distance away from gardens. Then waited 15 mins for the bus which was late due to traffic.

We booked a half day trip to Versailles departing at 2:00 pm. Our tickets asked us to arrive at 1:45, which we and others did, however tourism company was not ready to depart until sometime after 2:15. Once departed, the tour “guide” gave us very brief descriptions of some landmarks which was fine as we didn’t expect that as part of the trip. When we arrived to Versailles we skipped the line with a second tour guide Frederic - he was very helpful and spoke English well- (there was even a long line for timed entries but we bypassed that). Tour was fine until we had to leave...we weren’t given an extra 15 minutes to stay in Versailles in compensation for the tour company’s late departure. We met Frederic at the meeting point on-time at 5:45 pm. He says we should go to the other parking lot because a van will be taking us back and not a big bus. Fine no problem. However when I approached the van guy, he said I had to wait for next van (which by this point we’ve been waiting 20+ mins for anyone to show up in full sun and 80 degree weather). I assumed we had to wait because the van was full, but no, there were empty seats. He said he has to call his colleague and can only follow the directions he was given (as to who he could take? Not sure). I had to convince him to take us. He finally did. I feel bad for the other tourists on our group that did not speak French or English, I doubt they got a ride back. Versailles is at least a 30 minute drive from Paris...so other return options would be limited and expensive. Overall, the departure and pick up were really unorganized and no communication to the tourists...giving it a 2!
