We were fortunate enough to do both a 1/2 day Lisbon tour and a Full day wine tour with João while we were in Lisbon. We were not sure we would enjoy Lisbon as we are more nature / island lovers, but spending time with João we fell in love with Lisbon and it's surrounding areas. First, he happily changed our schedule when the airline switched our times. Second, he is so attentive to what you are interested in and creates the tour accordingly. Third, his love and passion for his city and country really make the tour special. He showed us countless places we NEVER would have found on our own, got us away from the crowds, and made us feel like friends. His connections in Lisbon were REAL obvious when we had access to places most do not. I won't give away the secrets... book a tour to find out. He even learned enough about us to find the perfect spot for us to have dinner. Literally could not have chosen a better spot. If you want to see the city or the countryside in a way that feels personal and educational, João is your guy!

I had an excellent day trip to visit the wineries Manzwine and Adegamae with the wonderful guide Joao Guadalpi. The wines were great, the tours were very interesting and I learned a lot about Portuguese wines. The food was also fantastic and they easily made dietary accommodations for me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon who would like to learn more about local wine and culture.

Joao is such a professional, knowledgeable, friendly and personable tour guide. We started the day with Adega Mae, a family owned winery about 40 minutes away from Lisbon city center. It’s an insanely beautiful winery with amazing architecture and state-of-the-art facility. Joao is so Knowledgeable about the wine making process and the history of the winery. He provided so much helpful information in an interesting and engaging way. After Adega Mae, we had lunch at a local Portuguese restaurant. He was very good at explaining the local cuisine and got us trying very delicious local dishes that we otherwise wouldn’t have known in the first place. We also visited a local palace after the meal and got to walk around the beautiful Mafra town. In the afternoon, we visited the second winery called Manzwine. Again, it was a very informative visit. A big shoutout to the manager (Raoul) at the Manzwine. He was so amiable and generous in offering his time and knowledge about the winery and characteristics that different Manzwine. We will for sure be ordering the wines when we get back to the States! Overall it was a very magical day. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time with Joao. He is clearly passionate about what he does and it makes a huge difference in the overall experience! We highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to go back to Lisbon at some point and book another tour with Joao.

We had a great day with Joao! He picked us up as scheduled, and we had an interesting and informative journey to the vineyards. When we arrived, we had a private tour and were given private access to the entire winery, and then had a fine tasting with snacks and information about the wines. We had a most delightful and delicious lunch (with wine) at a wonderful authentic local restaurant that was just great! We then when to a second winery that was very impressive as well! In addition, we had time to stop at a small town called Mafra and visited a baroque palace. Our group was only the two of us, but this was a memorable experience that we found quite enjoyable and well worth the time and expense. Good times!

Fantastic day out with João, a highlight of our trip. Had a lovely drive out through the country to a local winery, followed by a walk through the vineyards, some tasting. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Can definitely recommend it and we plan to come back again!

We loved our wine tasting tour with João! He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the Lisbon area and its wineries. He chose excellent wineries and we loved the place he took us for lunch! We did the tour on our last day in Lisbon and it was the perfect way to spend our day.

João was very personable and this tour was incredibly unique and interesting! The tour provided a mix of new and old style wine making as well as a traditional Portuguese lunch (note that lunch is not included). The wines were great and we were able to taste a few wines exclusively grown in Portugal. Overall the experience was excellent!

Joao rearranged plans to ensure we did repeat anything from a different wine tour we took and added some special touches like a worker's lunch in a small town in between our wineries. Both wineries were both historically significant and produced delicious wines. The lunch wasn't included in the tour, but at 7.50 euros for a full meal (including all the wine, coffee, etc. you can drink) there was nothing to complain about. The tour would have stood on its own merits, but Joao was a joy to be around and went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time. We even got to celebrate the local holiday with roasted chestnuts, which was a first for me.
