Your Itinerary

Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima

Get comfortable in an air-conditioned vehicle as you start your journey toward the town of Fátima, a once-sleepy rural village that became an important pilgrimage site when three shepherd children reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Visit the Sanctuary of Fatima, a basilica that honors the apparition and attracts millions of Catholic pilgrims every year who go to pay their respects to the shrine

Batalha Monastery

Next, visit the 14th-century Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that illustrates the rich artistic heritage of the late 1300s. Discover the impressive royal burial site at the basilica’s Founder’s Chapel, where King João I, Queen Philippa of Lancaster and their son Prince Henry the Navigator were buried. Note that we only visit the main church area, which is free of charge. To visit the whole structure (which we don't have much time), cloisters included, an additional charge is required (to be paid by the client directly to the local ticket office).

Miradouro da Nazaré

A stop to enjoy the old town of Nazaré, site of miracles, visions and one of the best views of the Portuguese coastline.

Praia da Nazare

Take a short break for lunch (own expense) in Nazaré, a quaint fishing town famous for its variety of restaurants and cafes. A popular summer retreat for the Portuguese, the village offers an interesting insight into local life. Short stop at the Nazaré cliffs to see the ocean views

Obidos Village

Finally, make your way to the medieval village of Óbidos. Founded in 208 BC, Óbidos is commonly known in Portugal as the 'wedding present town', as it was a gift from King Dinis to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282. Follow your guide to one of the numerous wine shops and sample the Ginja liqueur, and then enjoy free time to explore the village’s medieval fortress, narrow streets, colorful houses and Gothic doorways and windows decorated with flowerpots and dazzling tiles. Grab a snack or browse around the tiny shops that offer a varied collection of beautiful handmade ceramic art before making your way back to Lisbon.

Overall a pleasant day. Few things: 1. I booked a tour in English and came to find out it was dual language tour: Spanish had English. Our guide was great and for the most part it was equally in two languages. However, we were three English speakers vs 5 Spanish speakers. Naturally there was a lot more conversation in the van in Spanish we felt completely isolated from. If we had signed up for that or had known of that in advance we’d be less shocked. All in that was not a great surprise. 2. Too much time allocated to Fatima visit and not nearly enough to Obidos. We had spent 25 mins at a rest stop and an hour at the Fatima. We could have skipped the rest stop and limited Fatima to 40 mins and allocate two hours to the gorgeous obidos instead. All in: great guide and safe driving but experience far from optimal.

Fátima was very moving and Óbidos was incredible. We really had a great time. Our driver did a great job

Hello we had a nice group tour with Inside Lisbon to Fatima, Nazarene, and Obidios with Inside Lisbon was very nice. Nice clean mini van made our travel very comfortable. Our driver Rui was excellent and made the traveling to and between informative and fun. While he did not walk us around each venue, he did give us insights to each location before sending us out on our own. Each of the locations was nice. For my family and I Fatima was probably the least impactful. Of course if you are devout this would be a special place. Both Nazare and Obidios provided a great view of Portugal’s past with some incredible views and experiences. Hats off again to our driver Rui for a super day. You could tell he really enjoys what he is doing.

The tour was well-planned and an efficient way to visit Fatima. The other sites were an added bonus. The group was small and extremely pleasant. The tour guide/driver couldn’t have been more kind, patient and charming. Overall a great day of unforgettable exploration !

Our tour to Fatima was everything we had hoped it would be. The day was filled with wonder and our guide, Rodrigo was a consummate professional, excellent driver and respectful to those in our group who perhaps moved more slowly than others. He also had a command of the Portuguese history as well as knowledge of interesting facts regarding Portugal today. Our day was long and worth every minute of it!

Wonderful day outing. Our guide was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable. We look forward to our next Viator trip.

Our guide, Mar, was fabulous. Knowledgeable. And fun! Saw the Nazare ladies wearing the seven skirts. Strolled through medieval castles. Sipped Ginjinha

This trip was a very memorable and wonderful experience for us. Alberto our guide was on time, professional, knowledgeable and narrated the history and significance of all our places of visit. Fátima was a “wow” for us!

The tour was amazing. We were able to visit Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, as well as Obidos in one day. Totally incredible places, beautiful and full of history. The landscape and views are also wonderful. Bernardo is excellent in English, and he also drives well. The highway is of good quality, and all places are clean and pleasant.

Ricardo our guide was great. The pick-up was right on time. Ricardo provided a great history of Lisbon and all the sites we visited. For those expecting a visit to Nazaré lighthouse, this trip will not include that option. The stop in Nazaré while 2 hours long is just enough time to have a meal and walk the town.
