Hadrian's Villa

In the morning mist of the countryside, amongst olive trees, Mediterranean pines and tall cypresses we will take advantage of the Golden Hour to shoot photos of the well preserved ancient ruins immersed in the vast park that once was the luxurious villa of the famous Roman emperor Hadrian. In a sort of out of time atmosphere, we will photograph the fantastic swimming pools, buildings, baths, fountains, temples and even a theatre still witnessing the greatness of ancient Rome in terms of architecture, landscaping, and engineering.

Villa d'Este

Then, making a jump in time of about fifteen hundred years (the Hadrian villa was built around 120 a.C. while Villa d'Este works started around 1560) we will proceed to Villa d'Este. Here the photography setting will be completely different, but not less amazing and fascinating than the one of the morning tour. In fact Villa d’Este rooms and ceilings are all adorned by beautiful frescos and painting. From the elegant interiors, we will then go visit the famous lush Italian Garden surrounding the Baroque building to photograph the many fountains, the beautiful grottos, and the manicured park.

Wonderful tour with fantastic lesson in photography. Giulio quickly assessed my skill level and then provided excellent personalized tips for improving my photography. Also very knowledgeable about the places we visited and gave great recommendations for the rest of my trip. Fantastic day despite the heatwave!

I learned a tremendous amount that will help me take better photos in the future. Giulio is quite knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge and passion for photography. Hadrian's Villa and the Villa d'Este are both beautiful sites and I learned a lot about composition, angles, and lighting that I will be able to apply at other places. Giulio is also very personable and it was a fantastic day. I highly recommend his tours.

I made the Tour to Tivoli with Giulio which was already the 4. tour which I made with Giulio. After the stunning 3 tours in 2021 it was sure that I will do another tour with him when I come back to Rome. So punctual as always he picked me early in the morning at my hotel from where we drove together to Tivoli which took approximately 45 minutes.. Arriving there the photo tour started. As always I was a bit nervous at the beginning and needed advice. So he was as always very helpful with explanation concerning the settings and the composition of the photos and later he made great suggestions to improve the photos which I took by myself. Additionally he is a very patient teacher also when you don’t understand something immediately. His extremly helpful explanations are given in a way that you keep them in your mind to use them also after the end of the tour. And what was most impressive to see is that you can see how much he loves the photographie and the possibility to share his knowledge (not only about photographie but also about history, the places you visit and so on) with his customers. No question is too much and also no further foto stop if there is something interesting even if it takes more time than expected. To summarize it he is a great teacher and guide, an excellent photographer, a safe driver and a kind and great man. So I highly recommend to book this or any other tour with him! You would miss a wonderful experience and time to see parts of Rome in a unique way. Thanks a lot for everything, Giulio!

We had a fantastic day with Giulio. He was informative about the history of the area and helped us take advantage of the lighting conditions as we walked around the beautiful sites. His composition suggestions were terrific. I would highly recommend this tour. Or any other that Giulio has to offer.

I surprised my daughter with this booking. I am so happy that I did. She loves photography and was going to be in Rome that day with nothing to do. This was a perfect surprise for her. He was incredible professional and she had so much fun. She took over 1400 photos that day. I would highly recommend this to any camera geek (which my daughter is). Make sure that you have a blank 64 GB memory card and wear comfortable shoes. The photos are incredible.

I had a lot of fun working with Giulio throughout my tour. He really worked with me and didn't make me feel like I was doing something wrong ever. He would take a picture and I would do the same. He was always wanting to see the shot to make sure it turned out well. At one point he could read my body language that I was unhappy with how the photos were turning out and he took the time, stopped, and made changes to my camera in order for me to have success. He also was willing to let me explore different areas on my own so that I could get photos that were interesting to me. He was also really easy to talk to and I learned a lot. Another part of the tour that I really enjoyed was that as the day went on I got more comfortable and confident in what I my photos ended up with. I highly suggest any of his tours. I have way to many photos to choose from to use in USA state photography contests. Well worth the money.

This was our second outing with Giulio and we highly enjoyed it. The Villas were both spectacular, one being ruins of a once great compound the other containing art and beautuful gardens. Once again Giulio was there to guide us in framing shots, adjusting settings and making sure we beat some of the "crowds" to get the perfect shots. Giulio has an eye for what will work and the ability to instruct.

I am so glad I took this photo tour. I've been trying to step up my photo skills and this tour with Giulio made it happen! He is an excellent teacher - both patient and kind. He is very clear and shows you step by step - if that's what you need. But we quickly went way beyond the basics. He made beautiful suggestions and let me take the images I saw (not just what's on a list like other tours). He made me a much better photographer! I liked the idea of a photo day at the two stunning Villas in Tivoli while I was visiting busy Rome. The Villas have beautiful places for photos inside and out in the amazing gardens. He knows the history well and shared interesting stories about them. We stopped for a delicious lunch in town and ended the day with a snack. It was a perfect day. I have many outstanding photos thanks to this tour! He is a perfect gentleman, expert photographer, and gracious host. I highly recommend a tour with Guilio. I am so glad I did this. I will take his Rome night photo tour next time I'm in Rome. Do not hesitate to book a tour - you will have gorgeous photos to show your family and friends too!!!
