    It is a long day. First stop is in Obido, a charming medieval village at the top of a hill. The second stop is in Nazare, more to break the trip up North than to visit. Once in Porto the day goes fast and you have little time to see things. The city is super busy and a massive construction site because of the metro extension. There is a lot of pedestrian congestion and it makes it difficult to enjoy the moment. Yes it is a marvel of baroque art but many monuments need a good clean and restauration. Our guide Pedro was great, knowledgeable, friendly and clear in his instructions. There is no doubt that more time would have made the experience more enjoyable, but if like me one day is all you have, it’s better than nothing.

    Pedro and John (our driver) were amazing!!! The trip overall was fun. I enjoyed the drive as the last leg of my trip because I needed the scenic relaxation. Pedro was very nice and personable. I think his instructions were clear and he made everyone feel comfortable. The cons: It did feel rushed. I would have rather spent less time in the first two cities and more time in Porto. I also would have loved for there to be maybe 1 short wine tasting since we were up here. The worst part was the food that was included in the tour. It was terrible. It tasted weird. And the non pork options were severly lacking. The guys at the restaurant were very very nice to me but I would have loved if they explained the full menu instead of bringing out dishes, setting them down and walking away. We kept having to call them back and ask what it was. I would skip the lunch included option and have lunch on your own if you are considering this tour.

    Pedro went in-depth explaining the history of Portugal and the famous alliance. Overall a very educational tour if you’re into history and don’t mind walking mostly on cobblestones. I love Nazare the most as it was really laid back and the temperature was really really cool at probably below 20. The included lunch was abit of a let down and be prepared for a long bus ride!

    This was a great excursion to see the outskirts of Lisbon seeing 3 cities in a day! Loved these 3 cities! Obido has its unique beauty & Nazaré is more on nature & walking the metropolis of Porto is great! We enjoyed it much! And this is highly recommended! Pedro is a great tour guide! And he’s on the dot or on time which is a must! And I also commend the driver for getting us up our destination safe & on time!

    Obidos

    Start your journey toward the town of Óbidos, where we will start with a guided tour accompanied by our expert local guide. Completely surrounded by ancient walls and preserving all its medieval charm, Óbidos is one of the most famous and visited places in Portugal, a must-see in the surroundings of Lisbon. The narrow cobbled streets that can be seen in Óbidos will immediately transport you to a medieval atmosphere. These streets are home to perfectly preserved old houses, historic buildings, important monuments and, dominating the historic center in the highest part of the village, the Castle of Óbidos, declared one of the 7 wonders of Portugal.

    Nazare

    Continue the trip heading to possibly the most famous fishing town in Portugal, Nazaré, where we will visit the Forte de Sao Miguel. This site has become world-famous for the giant wave that hits its coast every winter and attracts lots of surfers from all over the world.

    Forte de Sao Miguel

    Walk through O Sitio, where the famous streets present a collection of religious buildings and are a hugely popular site for pilgrims from all around the globe. Hike your way up to the summit, where you'll find medieval fortifications, 17th-century churches, and modern shrines. Wander the courtyards and plazas surrounded by ornate structures, basilicas and statues.
