Your Itinerary

Rue de Siam

(Pass by)

Brest’s shopping quarters, it is named after a Siamese delegation (modern day Thailand) that passed by in 1686, that left the onlookers durably amazed.

National Maritime Museum

(Pass by)

Brest Castle. From the Roman castellum to Vauban's citadel, its history spans over 1700 years. It is to this day still a military fortress at a highly strategic location, and hosts the National Museum of Navy.

Jardin des Explorateurs

A cute botanical garden with an incredible view over the Castle and the bay. It was made to honour the explorers that left from the port of Brest in the 18th century, and came back carrying plants and seeds from faraway islands. A century later, in 1975, Brest Botanical Conservatory opened, becoming the first-ever to vow to protect endangered species in the world.

Tour de la Motte Tanguy

(Pass by)

This tower is a souvenir of the 100 years war, some 8 centuries ago, and also the museum of the city of Brest. There you can see dioramas of what Brest was before.

Rue Saint-Malo

(Pass by)

Brest's treasured remains of what the city was before World War II, this street was saved by a brave lady and the association Vivre la Rue. A time capsule at the feet of the Capucins.

Les Ateliers des Capucins

Looking at this enormous former military building, that is now Brest's newest arts and culture hub, we'll understand how Brest is turning its eyes towards the future while never forgetting what's made her so unique.

Téléphérique De Brest

Brest's flashiest new addition: a cable car system to tie together the two historic parts of Brest: Brest-même and Recouvrance. We'll use it to return to the city or take the tram if there is an issue with the cable cars (it happens).

Caroline's enthusiasm and knowledge of all things Brest made for a very informative tour. We especially enjoyed listening to her talk with pride about her city and Brittany.

Caroline was a perfect guide with a great sense of how to tell the story of Brest for a tour group. I enjoyed her perspective on the good and not so good points of Brest. All very entertaining and educational at the same time. I highly recommend this tour.

Caroline was a wonderful guide for our walking tour of Brest. She was well prepared with photos and had such a great personality it made this one of the best tours.

Caroline, was extremely knowledgeable about Brest. It turned into a 3-hour tour. We walked just shy of 5-miles. The bus from our cruise dropped us off at a different place, so take the address as to where Caroline anticipates you arriving. She was enthusiastic. Learned a ton.

Caroline just made this tour so interesting and fun that I totally felt in love with Brest. Definitely will be back and find Caroline for another tour and even maybe some Hula Hop practice!!!! Thank you 🙏

This was a good tour. The guide was very interesting and enthusiastic about the city. We had paid for this tour thru Viator where as others on the tour paid nothing except if they felt like leaving a tip. This arrangement for those who had prepaid seemed unfair. Also she was walking quite fast and we could not keep up with her and therefore missed some of the commentary that she had for others who were walking at a brisker pace.

A more enthusiastic, energetic, or engaging guide than Caroline would be hard to find—-anywhere. Her candid description of a city she so obviously loves and is rooting for every step of the way is interesting, informative, and refreshingly objective. And her hoola hoop skills are second to none! Caroline is truly the best of Brest.

Caroline guided us through the City, providing insight into the history of the sights we saw, but also conveying the history of the region and it’s relationship to France. She was very entertaining and passionate about the City. A great tour!

On reaching Brest my friends and I decided to book a guided walking tour as we have found these the best way to get to know a new place. We booked Brest T. walking tour with Caroline. We had a wonderful three hours with our guide who was passionate about Brest being the place she grew up in. The tour was very informative but not OTT plus we received good advice on places to visit within Brest and in the surrounding towns. This walking tour is a must do if it’s your first time in Brest.

Inge-Lore K

We actually discovered the best of Brest with the tour and were able to explore the places again later in private. Thank you for the informative tour
