What to expect
Marseille
We will pick you up at any hotel in Marseille for your visit. Depending on the parking possibilities, we will pick you up at the reception of your hotel. If this is not necessary, we will pick you up on the street in front of your hotel.
Mucem
First major national museum dedicated to the Mediterranean, Mecca of modern architecture and heritage, the Mucem is a cultural city open to the sea. Visit the building and go to the roof to admire the view and join Fort Saint-Jean with one of the footbridges.
Cathedrale de la Major
Located near the Mucem and the Panier, the Cathedral has spectacular dimensions similar to the St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and can accommodate up to 3,000 people! Built in Byzantine style, it is one of the largest churches in France. Its construction extends over 40 years, between 1852 and 1893, at the time when Marseille is the first port of France and serves as a stopover for ships from around the world.
Le Panier
This is the oldest district of Marseille, and is a must for visiting the center. The Basket is appreciated to cultivate on the historical places of Marseilles, to have a drink on terrace, to stroll in the streets and to discover artisans and creators of the Basket which open their doors to you. You will see the museum of the Old Charity among others. Your driver will suggest a customized itinerary to discover the entire neighborhood on foot.
Le Vieux Port
Stretching around a bustling marina, the Old Port of Marseille is known for its elegant hotels, waterside cafes, and seafood restaurants serving mullet and lobster. from the fish market standing on the wharf. You can walk in the pedestrian streets near the Opera House of Marseille, building in Art Deco style, or go around the port on foot or by taking a shuttle that cuts the port (50 cents per person, to be paid on square).
Palais du Pharo
The palace of Pharo. is a monument in Marseille whose construction was ordered by Napoleon III for Empress Eugenie in the second half of the nineteenth century. It belongs today to the city of Marseille and is a place of welcome for congresses and various events. Your driver will leave you at the entrance because you will have an incredible view of the entire port in the heart of a large flower garden.
Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde
If it were necessary to present Our Lady of the Guard in a few words it would be: more than 800 years of pilgrimage, 157 meters high, an impregnable view on all the Phocaean city and the symbol of a whole city. You can also visit the basilica open to the public. Your driver will wait for you at the car park at the foot of the steps.
