This was a great trip around the West of Madeira. Very interesting places to visit with stunning views from the mountain roads of the coast.

Very disappointed as we paid for this tour and it did not take place. Was told that we would be picked up from the hotel and no-one came to meet us. The telephone numbers given was non-existent. Tour operator Pride of Madeira (Tour operator for this tour) +351912176815 does not exist anymore !!!! Antonio Decro Nunez Abreu is not based in Madeira/Portugal and hence was not here to pick us up from our hotel for this tour that we already pre-booked and paid for.

We used PoM for a West tour with Felipe who took us to many places stopping for just the right amount of time at each spot. He drove very carefully and comfortably. On another day we had Fernando take us to mimosa levada. Not as careful a driver but ok and he told us a lot about the flora as we did our walk which took nearly 3 hours for 6.5 km. Finally 25 euro paid for a transfer to airport.

Also did the East tour 20 euros for a full day, great guides (Alex & Philip) small group (max.8) all done at a nice pace no rush, great stops and scenery and pleasant company as well, what's not to like. Great way to see more of the island highly recommended.

Lots of interesting facts and information was given us during the tour. Very comfortable 20 seater coach and caring driver. We has a lovely day touring the west of the island, the day was sunny until we hit the high ground and drove through mist and fog. It was an enjoyable day and great value for money. We did another full day tour two days later.

We hebben zuiver op de gok gekozen voor Pride of Madeira, (op elke straathoek en zelfs pal naast ons hotel kan je immers boeken). Het busje arriveerde 20 minuten te laat, dus een beetje een valse start. Druk verkeer en een bus die ons blokkeerde was de, acceptabele, verklaring. De trip, met Philip als -zeer goede- chauffeur en gids was verder boven verwachting. Hij spreekt, in ieder geval, vloeiend Frans en Engels en legde onderweg veel uit. Met 6 personen, 2 Canadeze, 2 Engelsen en wij in een wat gedateerd 9 persoons busje was lekker ruim, ramen open omdat er geen airco inzat, maar dat gaf niets. Op de attractiepunten ruim de tijd gehad om deze te bekijken en ook 1.5 uur lunchtijd. Niks opgedrongen restaurantjes ofzo, gewoon take your time. Morgen gaan we bij hen de Easttour boeken. Aanrader deze organisatie!

Niet de meest uitgeruste bus - we hebben echter geen hinder ondervonden van het feit dat er geen airconditioning was. Een minder punt was dat het busje een kwartier te laat arriveerde. Dit werd echter goed gemaakt door de eerlijke gids, die prima en verstaanbaar zijn talen (Engels op native niveau als ook goed Duits) spreekt en veel kennis van zaken heeft. Hij vertelde uitgebreid, rustig en met humor. Positief is het selecte gezelschap, met maximaal acht personen is de tour gedaan. Een vriendelijke medewerker in het kantoortje waar we de tour geboekt hebben (direct bij Pride of Madeira). Geen gladde praatjes en een duidelijke prijs zonder allerlei fratsen (geen timetable).
