Our guide Maureen was personable and full of information. When she didn't know something, which was rare, she admitted as such. She was full of other excellent suggestions for our remaining time in Chicago.

This was a tour specifically for Chicago women architects. We had the privilege of touring with a docent who had written the script for the tour. Ms. Hoag was amazingly Knowledgeable and we learned so much about our beautiful city

The CAC always provides in depth, informative, and exceptional tours—volunteer guides are knowledgeable, friendly, and full of midwestern charm. Have done dozens of tours in Chicago—the CAC holds the high bar.

I just finished the What’s New walking tour through Streeterville led by my favorite docent, Mary Jo Hoag. I’ve known Mary Jo for probably 10 years and I’ve taken many of her tours including Graceland Cemetery, the Inland Steel building , the Fine Arts building and today Streeterville. Since Mary Joe researches and writes many of the tours herself, she is especially knowledgeable and for this tour she was able to talk to several of the architects who designed the buildings we saw and had inside information. I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour so it was like strolling through the neighborhood with a friend. I’m always happy when I find out Mary Jo is going to be my docent and I look forward to taking more of her tours.

A very informative and well presented tour juxtaposing older gems with new ones to give context to our built environment. Darcy was a wonderful leader and at the finish wrapped up all we had seen in a great synopsis. The weather was pretty miserable, but she didn’t miss a step and neither did we. Just an excellent experience!!
