Lower Yellowstone River Falls

Lower Falls, the biggest waterfall in Yellowstone at 308-feet tall, is the most famous waterfall in the park. The canyon’s colors were created by hot water acting on volcanic rock. It was not these colors, but the river’s yellow banks at its distant confluence with the Missouri River, that occasioned the Minnetaree Indian name which French trappers translated as roche jaune, yellow stone. The canyon has been rapidly downcut more than once, perhaps by great glacial outburst floods.

We took two tours with Brushbuck: Grand Teton 4-hour tour and Yellowstone 12-hour tour They were exactly the experience my family was looking for. We are not familiar with the area nor are we the outdoorsy type. However we enjoy the knowledge from our guides who kept us safe in the parks. The high-power scopes our guides had allowed us to see the wildlife at a safe distance. Our guides were Ted and Steven. Highly recommend this company.

The trip was fantastic! Our guide,(Ted) was so knowledgeable about everything Yellowstone and surrounding areas. He answered all our questions, took us to some really great places and was just as excited about seeing things as we were. Even spotted a grizzly! Would definitely recommend. Be ready for a long but rewarding day!

Our guide Anthony did a great job taking us through Yellowstone. Very knowable. Found lots of animals. Well worth the money.

Steve our guide was amazing! He was great to be around. Funny, and very knowledgeable on everything going on up in yellowstone. We did the scenic tour. And what tour it was. Managed to see 9 bears a wolf, ton of bison, some coyotes, elk, and pronghorn. Not to mention the other animals around. Especially them rock looking bears. Hands down best tour my wife and I have ever been on. We would of done the grand teton tour the very next day if we knew how amazing Steve was and how great the experience was. Steve made it so enjoyable we think our next trip out west might be to just yellowstone and grand tetons. No questions asked I'd recommend them and Steve in a heart beat.

We were in Jackson for a conference. Mainly explored the Grand Tetons but wanted to knock out Yellowstone as well - figured doing a day tour (6am-6pm) would allow us to see the main sights. Our guide Ron Paradis was very good. The transportation was very comfortable (air conditioned large SUV). Saw a bear, bison, bald eagle, badgers, elk and antelope. Most wildlife we saw was in Lamar valley and it was beautiful. Highly recommend it. Thanks Ron!

Everything about this tour was five star, especially our guide Phil. He was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly & taught us so much about the Parks & history. Picnic boxed lunch was nicer than expected. Glad we saw a couple highlights of Grand Teton as we headed out to Yellowstone as well. Highly recommended. We would not have been able to see nearly as much of the park if we did it on our own. We will be looking at this company for future tours.

My daughter and I had the most amazing time on the tour. We experienced far more than we would have if we went at it alone. Phil, our guide, was awesome! He made sure we were comfortable the whole time. He is extremely knowledgeable about Yellowstone, the wildlife, the history, and everything in between. If you’re planning a trip to Yellowstone or the surrounding area, I highly recommend Brushbuck and ask for Phil!

Kaya was awesome!! I saw 399 and her cub as well as a black bear and loads of bison! It was a great trip! I would have never been able to see as much wildlife in their own habitat out on my own. I was so thankful to have scheduled this tour. Definitely worth it!
